Hotel Occupancy at InJourney Hospitality Shows Positive Trend During Eid al-Fitr 1446 H Holiday Season

Eid al-Fitr is a special time for Indonesians, especially for those traveling home (mudik) and spending time with family. This year’s Eid holiday brought a big increase in local travel and tourism.

This holiday season was also a great opportunity for the hotel industry, which saw a significant rise in room occupancy. Both local and international tourists showed strong interest in staying at comfortable and memorable hotels.

PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality), part of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (InJourney), manages 38 properties including 37 hotels and 1 training center. They saw a noticeable increase in room bookings during the Eid al-Fitr 1446 H holiday.

During this festive period, InJourney Hospitality recorded a 4.1% increase in hotel occupancy compared to the same period in 2024. The hotels with the highest occupancy included Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel, Merusaka Nusa Dua, The Meru Sanur, Lafayette Boutique Hotel, and The Manohara Yogyakarta.

The busiest day for hotel stays was April 2, 2025 (the third day of Eid), with an average occupancy rate of 83% and 3,858 rooms sold. On that day, all hotel clusters under InJourney Hospitality performed well:

  • Java: 91.7% average occupancy

  • Sumatra: 86.5%

  • Bali: 80.2%

  • Kalimantan: 70.2%

  • Nusa Tenggara and Sulawesi also showed positive growth.

From March 28 to April 5, 2025, Bali had the highest average occupancy at 73.1%, led by Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel, Merusaka Nusa Dua, and The Meru Sanur. Java followed with 69.8%, with Lafayette Boutique Hotel in Yogyakarta as the top performer. Other strong performers included Khas Ombilin in Sumatra, Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo in Nusa Tenggara, and Yulia Hotel Gorontalo in Kalimantan-Sulawesi.

The Food & Beverage (F&B) side of the business also saw a big jump in revenue compared to last year. This was thanks to high guest spending, targeted promotions, and more tourist visits.

With the theme “Kembali Fitri Sepenuh Hati” (A Heartfelt Return to Fitri), InJourney Hospitality aimed to give guests a meaningful holiday experience. They offered special Eid room packages, buffet meals, gift hampers, and exclusive promotions through digital platforms and online travel agents.

Several hotels also had fun activities for kids, like face painting, ketupat (rice cake) making, and painting crafts. For guests seeking relaxation, wellness activities such as yoga, sound healing, body scrubs, and aqua aerobics were available.

Khas Semarang Hotel offered family fun with a mini zoo, kids playhouse, mini cinema, and a gelato corner. At Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo, guests enjoyed a kids' movie night, while Khas Parapat gave free access to Lake Toba, adding a special touch to the celebration.

Christine Hutabarat, President Director of InJourney Hospitality, shared that this year's Eid holiday had a positive impact on the performance of all InJourney hotels. “The increase in hotel occupancy was driven by more tourists, better service, and high-quality hotel facilities, making InJourney hotels a top choice for celebrating Eid,” she said.

“We thank all our guests who chose to stay with us during Eid. We hope your experience was memorable,” Christine added.

“InJourney Hospitality continues to innovate and improve to provide the best service and support the growth of the tourism sector,” she concluded.
