Study UK & Careers Fest 2025 by BritCham Education Centre

The BritCham Education Centre held its third ‘Study UK & Careers Fest’ on Saturday, February 22nd supported by the British Embassy Jakarta and Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP). More than 400 young adults and parents gathered to explore university and career opportunities in the UK and with British-affiliated organisations. Around 40 universities and corporations were represented. The event included talk shows featuring experts giving unique insights into language, course selection, cross cultural opportunities, and career development challenges.

The Fest was officially opened by BritCham’s Board Member, Ningcy Yuliana, Managing Director, PZ Cussons, who set the stage for an insightful and engaging programme. 

The four dedicated discussion corners were The Study UK Corner – Master Class with Chevening, UK Alumni Corner – UK Alumni Success Stories, Study UK Corner – Master Class with LPDP, and Career Corner – Future Career Trends and CV Review.

The Study UK Corner – Master Class with Chevening featured Vonny Lisayani, the Chevening Scholarships and Alumni Coordinator for Indonesia and Timor-Leste. She highlighted the growing demand for individuals who drive impact, making it essential for young adults to plan their contributions through their future careers.

Moderated by Chris Wren, CEO of BritCham Indonesia, UK Alumni Corner – UK Alumni Success Stories featured Redita Aliyah Utomo, UK Alumni Award Winner 2024 in the Business & Innovation Category and Director of Sekarmas Group, as well as Anggi Cerelia, Former Assistant Product Manager at Cartier UK, Performance Marketing Executive at Mulberry England & The PHA Group, and Women@Dior UK Mentee, as speakers. They explained that the global reputation and independence endorsed by the British education system contribute to students’ opportunities to build networks and develop critical thinking skills. The Study UK Corner – Master Class with LPDP, led by Ari Kuncoro, Head of the Communication Subdivision of LPDP, introduced scholarship opportunities available for Indonesian students through LPDP. He highlighted LPDP as a form of investment endorsed by the government to support Indonesians in their pursuit of higher education, emphasizing the impact created both nationally and globally.

Concluding the talk show session with the Career Corner – Future Career Trends and CV Review session, featuring insights from Rocky Reynaldo, Senior Consultant – Legal, and Dina Rizki, Senior Consultant – Mining, Metal, and Energy Sectors at Michael Page Indonesia, who provided a comprehensive outlook on future career trends and expert CV reviews. They emphasized the growing demand for jobs in the technology and green sectors, and added that in today’s competitive job market, adaptability–complemented by relevant technical skills is the most sought-after qualification.

The participating UK universities included Glasgow Caledonian University, Lancaster University, Leeds Beckett University, Loughborough University, Teesside University, University of Bedfordshire, University of Bradford, University of Exeter, University of Hull, University of Staffordshire. UWE, Bristol. A selection of corporate members of BritCham Indonesia were ABE UK, ACCA, Berkeley Group, Bank Sinarmas, CastleAsia, Ernst & Young, Forest Carbon, Ginting & Reksodiputro in association with A&O Shearman, and Wall Street English. This unique combination of academic institutions and industry leaders provided attendees with an holistic perspective on their future education and career paths.
