This year's JDW 2023 has the theme "folklore" which links unique dishes wrapped in Indonesian legends or folklore. Uniquely, the choice of theme becomes an entry for actors who are dominated by young chefs into the richness of Indonesian folklore. Choosing a theme is JDW's strategy in pushing local values to modern actors.

One of the founders of JDW, Gupta Sitorus, said at a press conference, Sunday (24/9), "Now our homework is very big, we want to push this into a regional event. We are collaborating with 40 curated restaurants, 30 more MSMEs, and hundreds of dessert merchants on Tokopedia. On behalf of JDW, happy celebrating Indonesian desserts."

In this culinary event, JDW divided its program into three periods. The first period is 25 September to 22 October 2023 entitled "City Takeover" which invites the public to have snacks at more than 100 restaurant points. Not only that, you can also taste this unique dessert by buying it online via Tokopedia.

Then, JDW 2023 also became the first breakthrough for PT Map Boga Adiperkasa Tbk to join the festival, as well as collaborating with Indonesian celebrity chefs. Chef Yuda Bustara was chosen to create the limited edition GODIVA, PAUL, Cold Stone Creamery and Krispy Kreme menu.

Jakarta Dessert Week 2023 also invites Lingkar Temu Kabupaten Lestari (LTKL) to collaborate. At the Press Conference and Opening Party at La Moda, Plaza Indonesia, LTKL presented social and environmentally-friendly raw materials originating from various districts in Indonesia as processed canapés.
