This partnership introduces two specially commissioned permanent sculptures—Song of the Flow and Dance with the Wind

Savyavasa, the luxury residential development born from the collaboration between mega-developers PT Jakarta Setiabudi International Tbk. (JSI Group) and Swire Properties, today announced an exclusive collaboration with leading Indonesian artist Teguh Ostenrik. This partnership introduces two specially commissioned permanent sculptures—Song of the Flow and Dance with the Wind—that blend art, nature, and conscious design to elevate the living experience for residents.

Inspired by the natural elements of earth, water, and air, these monumental works reinforce Savyavasa’s positioning, “Crafted in Harmony, Perfected by Nature.” More than standalone art installations, the sculptures are seamlessly integrated into the residential landscape and conceived as an essential part of the overall guest experience.

Teguh Ostenrik: A Master Artist with Environmental Impact

For nearly five decades, Teguh Ostenrik has been recognized for using art as a powerful medium to advocate for environmental awareness. He founded Yayasan Terumbu Rupa, an art-based initiative that utilizes sculptural works to stimulate coral reef growth. His oeuvre, often inspired by marine life, serves as a reminder of the ocean’s vital role as a source of oxygen and a foundation of life on Earth.

A graduate of Germany’s Hochschule der Künste (UdK) Berlin, where he earned his MFA, Ostenrik is known for combining European artistic techniques with Indonesian sensibilities. This distinctive approach has resulted in works that resonate globally while remaining deeply rooted in local context.

Conscious Design and Enduring Craftsmanship

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to meaningful, long-lasting design. Crafted from corten steel, known for its durability and natural patina, the sculptures embody responsible production practices while also serving as permanent landmarks that enhance wayfinding and encourage interaction among residents.

Song of the Flow

Located at Tower 1, Song of the Flow is a ribbon-like metal sculpture standing approximately five meters tall. Its fluid, gentle form invites moments of calm reflection. During the day, its surface softly captures and reflects light, while at dusk, its deepening patina radiates warmth, harmonizing with the surrounding water features and landscape.

Dance with the Wind

Installed at Tower 2, Dance with the Wind comprises three curved metal planes arranged to resemble fabric touched by a passing breeze. The composition conveys restrained yet elegant movement, encouraging viewers to walk around the sculpture and discover their own rhythm—an expression of harmony with nature that lies at the heart of Savyavasa’s philosophy.

“JSI Group’s vision has always been rooted in enhancing urban quality of life while remaining accountable to environmental responsibility. We believe that progressive cities must be built on the foundations of craftsmanship, nature, and sustainability. Savyavasa, together with our collaboration with Teguh Ostenrik, is a tangible manifestation of this vision—presenting artworks of high cultural value while promoting responsible development,” said Chandra Asali, Director of JSI Group and President Director of PT Jantra Swarna Dipta.

“Savyavasa represents a form of luxury with genuine substance, grounded in expansive green spaces, privacy and exclusivity, and exceptional Indonesian craftsmanship aligned with global preferences. Our collaboration with Teguh Ostenrik perfectly reflects this philosophy—each artwork is thoughtfully designed, personalized, and created to coexist with its surroundings. These works enrich residents’ daily experiences while reinforcing our commitment to balancing luxury with nature,” added Sophie Watson-Swingewood, Vice President Director of PT Jantra Swarna Dipta and Swire Properties Indonesia.

For Teguh Ostenrik, the collaboration offers an opportunity to create art that goes beyond visual beauty. “For me, art is a bridge between tradition and modernity. My vision is to create forms that do not impose meaning but invite interpretation—works that breathe with their environment and inspire people to connect with the rhythms of nature every day.”

This collaboration underscores Savyavasa’s dedication to curating a truly distinctive and meaningful residential environment—one where luxury and nature coexist in harmony. Alongside other community-focused initiatives, these sculptural works contribute to the unique essence and atmosphere that set Savyavasa apart from other luxury residential developments in Jakarta.
