Sakura Blue Café has officially opened at Arena Lakeside Kemayoran, introducing a welcoming neighbourhood café concept designed for everyday occasions, from enjoying a quiet coffee alone and catching up with friends to meeting family or simply taking a break in a comfortable setting.
With the tagline “Crafted to Delight,” Sakura Blue Café serves Japanese-quality donuts, fluffy pancakes, small-batch coffee, and a selection of small plates in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
“We want Sakura Blue Café to become a neighbourhood café for Kemayoran and the surrounding area, a place to enjoy coffee, donuts, casual conversations, or simply spend some comfortable time,” says Rika Fardani, Head of Marketing at Arena Group.
Japanese-quality donuts, fresh every day
One of the café’s highlights is its selection of donuts, made with a soft, light and airy texture. The dough undergoes a 24-hour cold fermentation process and is prepared in fresh batches every day to create a delicate texture with a balanced flavour.
The selection includes Vanilla Custard, Matcha, Chocolate Custard, Butterscotch Glaze, as well as special opening flavours such as Strawberry Sakura Glaze and Milk Chocolate Almond Glaze. French Crullers are also available in several flavours.
Quality ingredients are an important part of the process, with premium couverture chocolate used for the chocolate varieties and Valrhona Matcha for the matcha donuts. Fillings and fresh cream are specially prepared to complement each flavour, combining carefully selected ingredients with Japanese-inspired techniques.
Fluffy pancakes made fresh to order
Donuts are not the only reason to stop by. Sakura Blue Café also serves pancakes made fresh to order, with the batter prepared in small batches every 10 minutes to maintain its light, cloud-soft texture.
For something sweet, the Classic Soufflé Pancake offers a simple and fluffy option, while the Cheese Fondue Pancake and Crispy Chicken Soufflé Pancake provide savoury alternatives for a more filling meal.
A small-batch coffee experience
Coffee takes centre stage at Sakura Blue Café’s Coffee Experience Bar, where guests can explore a selection of single-origin beans based on their preferred flavour profiles, with recommendations from the café’s baristas.
The beans are roasted in small batches using a Novo Mark II, helping maintain consistency in roasting time and temperature. The coffee is then freshly ground and brewed by the baristas, allowing each cup to showcase its aroma and flavour at its best.
For those who want to take the experience home, the café also offers its small-batch roasted coffee beans for purchase.
Homemade soft serve, parfaits and savoury snacks
For dessert, Sakura Blue Café makes its own soft serve using selected ingredients, available in Japanese Milk Vanilla and Matcha flavours. There are also three Japanese-style parfaits to choose from: Banana Chocolate, Kyoto Matcha, and Strawberry Sakura.
The café’s menu extends beyond sweet treats, with savoury snacks including Osaka Fries and Creamy Korokke, alongside other casual bites that pair nicely with coffee or a relaxed afternoon catch-up.
A café for slower moments
For Sakura Blue Café, a café is about more than food and drinks. The experience is also shaped by how guests spend their time. Warm lighting, music, comfortable seating, and a calm, easygoing atmosphere create a relaxed setting overlooking the lake.
With a capacity of around 50 guests, Sakura Blue Café forms part of the culinary scene at Arena Lakeside Kemayoran, offering a more casual café option within the complex. Guests can also drop by for coffee or dessert after dining at nearby restaurants including Seribu Rasa, Penang Bistro, Greyhound Café, Maison Tatsuya Teppanyaki, Massilia Cucina Italiana, and Gyukatsu Kyoto Katsugyu.
“We want Sakura Blue Café to feel close and easily become part of people’s everyday routines.
