Mandiri presents Jakarta Coffee Week (Jacoweek) 2024, an annual celebration of Indonesia's coffee culture, now entering its 9th year. This event will once again take place from November 1–3, 2024, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City, Hall 5.
Jacoweek 2024, presented by Bank Mandiri, returns with the theme "Celebration," as a form of appreciation for the industry players, baristas, and coffee enthusiasts who support the growth of the coffee industry and help elevate Indonesia’s name in various global coffee competitions.
Entering 2024, Indonesia has achieved remarkable successes, including becoming a champion in several international coffee competitions and seeing an increase in the global popularity of Indonesian coffee. This is supported by data from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, which reports that robusta coffee, particularly unroasted (not fried with oil) robusta, continues to be the dominant coffee export commodity from January to September 2024, with growing demand from overseas.
Hendri Kurniawan, Co-Founder of Jakarta Coffee Week, stated, "Since its inception, Jacoweek has aimed to be a platform that brings together communities, farmers, and industry players, both local and international, in the coffee and F&B sectors. This year, 'Celebration' is the theme we bring forward, as a tribute to everyone who has worked together to build a strong community and contribute to the development of Indonesia's coffee industry. Exactly 21 years ago (2003), Indonesia participated in the World Barista Championship for the first time, and now the world champion barista title is held by Indonesia. This is the spirit of celebration that we want to spread for the advancement of Indonesia's specialty coffee culture through Jacoweek 2024."
