After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on motherhood, designer Andhita Siswandi makes a triumphant return to Jakarta’s fashion scene.

Balancing a creative career with the demands of motherhood is no small feat. For Indonesian designer Andhita Siswandi, that reality prompted a six-year hiatus from the runway. Stepping back into the spotlight on October 23, 2026, at Half Patiunus, the Lasalle College of Fashion graduate marked her highly anticipated return with the Spring/Summer 2027 collection, aptly titled "Adorn."

The designer, who originally began her career as a fashion journalist, admits she spent several years planning a comeback. However, finding the right moment, team, partners, and marketing pathways meant waiting for 2026.

"The fashion industry has completely transformed," Andhita reflects on her time away. "Beyond tailors and fellow designers, everyone from fashion journalists and style icons to models has changed."

Rather than simply catering to fleeting trends or fulfilling client requests as she did during her hiatus, Andhita views this collection as an opportunity for personal and brand expansion. She is not merely returning; she is evolving.

True to its name, "Adorn" aims to embellish and elevate the wearer through 50 distinct womenswear looks designed for versatile, everyday occasions. The lineup marries ease with elegance, featuring crisp shirts elevated by unexpected embellishments.

The extensive collection encompasses shirts, polo shirts, blazers, bomber jackets, pencil skirts, balloon skirts, A-line skirts, midi skirts, voluminous skirts, skorts, shorts, trousers, dresses, and capes. A soft palette of yellow, pink, lavender, green, and blue anchors the pieces, balanced out by grounding shades of black. Premium fabrics like duchess satin and tweed meet breathable textiles such as silk, cotton, organza, chiffon, and semi-wool.

Andhita’s signature mastery of silhouette takes center stage through sculptural bows rendered in various techniques tailored to each fabric. Ruffles, weaving, voluminous cuts, drapery, and delicate feather accents showcase meticulous craftsmanship, with every garment finished using clean French seams.

"I incorporated plenty of material manipulation and complex techniques in this comeback show," she shares with pride. "The goal is for our clientele to see the diverse options Andhita and the team can execute."

Targeting active women aged 25 and above with strong personal style, the designer leans heavily into her strengths: crafting elevated shirts and polo tops that offer effortless mix-and-match potential alongside exceptional comfort and fit.

Drawing from her personal journey as a mother of four, Andhita brings profound empathy to her pattern-making. "I went through four pregnancies and postpartum phases accompanied by very real physical changes," she notes. "I truly understand the areas of a woman's body that can cause stress and insecurity at certain times. I know which areas can be flattered and cleverly concealed so the wearer feels comfortable and confident."

Beyond the runway, the showcase carries a philanthropic heartbeat. Andhita introduced a limited run of charity t-shirts in classic black and white, priced at IDR 300,000. All proceeds will be donated directly to victims affected by forest and land fires. Attendees purchased the pieces at the venue or through the designer's direct channels.

The debut presentation was brought to life through creative collaborations, featuring custom footwear by Rajnik for Andhita Siswandi, eyewear by Optik Seis, and accessories by Havilah. For a designer who also manages a popular culinary social media channel, the milestone carried a deeply personal message.

"I want to send a message to my children that working and creating remains a valid choice," Andhita concludes. "Even after having children and starting a family."
