Fred Perry Announces Fred Perry “DNA” Exhibition at Plaza Senayan:
A Journey from Court to Subculture
Fred Perry Indonesia is proud to announce the opening of the Fred Perry DNA Exhibition, a ten-day immersive experience celebrating the brand’s storied evolution from British sportswear to a global icon of self-expression. Taking over the Fountain Area at Plaza Senayan from 22–31 May 2026, the exhibition invites the public to explore the heritage of the Laurel Wreath and the "Hero Styles" that have defined youth culture for over 70 years.
Bridging British roots with Indonesia’s vibrant creative scene, the space doubles as a community hub featuring a dedicated bar by Modernhaus and community-led table tennis matches. The event will also host a curated musical lineup including Jugo Djarot, The Patras, Tomorrow People Ensemble, The Golden Door Boyz, Greybox Ensemble, and DJ Sets by SCRBS!,Shaq, alongside an open deck session hosted by Laidback Records, This Happy Feeling, and Fever Sounds.
The Fred Perry DNA Exhibition honors the brand’s origins and the legacy of its founder, three-time Wimbledon champion Fred Perry. Since its launch in 1952, the original M3 Fred Perry Shirt has seamlessly transitioned from the tennis court to the heart of global subcultures, embraced by everyone from Modernists and Punks to the Britpop movement, while continuing to resonate with today’s evolving subculture scene across music, fashion, and youth culture. In 2026, Fred Perry celebrated this storied evolution by showcasing the "Hero Styles" that continue to define the brand’s unique DNA.

● The Fred Perry Shirt: The original subcultural uniform, adopted by each generation as their own.
● The Tennis Bomber: Sportswear with an undeniable street swagger. ● The Taped Track Jacket: The tricot classic that transitioned from training to raving. ● The Barrel Bag: A sporting staple packed with functional features, loved by many.
● The Tennis Shoes: Functional staples that have trod paths from grass courts to city streets.
For the first time in Jakarta, visitors can also view a curated selection of archival pieces and legendary collaborations. The display features work with cultural heavyweights such as Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, The Specials, and high-fashion powerhouses like Raf Simons, Comme des Garçons, and Stüssy. Each piece serves as a testament to how the Laurel Wreath transcends fashion to become a symbol of non-conformity.
