The Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2024, one of the Indonesia's most celebrated jazz festival, returns for its 19th edition from May 24 th - 26 th May 2024, at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran. This year, with the theme "Embracing Unity Through Music," the festival aims to encourage unity and connection through the universal language of music. At the press conference today, the 19 th Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival announced the line-up that will be performing on 11 stages across the festival area. Observe a diverse array of musical influences and cultural kaleidoscopes as Indonesian and international performers showcase various facets of music fusion live on stage.

"PT. Java Festival Production is pleased to announce the 19th edition of the Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival this year. Producing a music festival with a mix of performances by well-known and emerging artists in our line-up embodies the spirit of harmonious music. Indonesian and foreign acts alike will get the opportunity to perform their best in front of our devoted audience, which is looking to see the greatest of their idols or discover new musicians at the event. The artist line-up is designed to appeal to everyone, with visitors able to choose what they want to see based on preference or mood. And so we chose 'Embracing Unity Through Music' as our tagline to demonstrate how we would continue to use this festival platform to promote unity", says Dewi Gontha, President Director of PT. Headlining the festival are jazz legends and contemporary sensations, including the 2024 Grammy Award Winner Icelandic jazz singer-songwriter Laufey, the soulful crooner October London who in 2022 was signed to the Death Row Records by Snoop Dogg, and the trailblazing drummer The Yussef Dayes Experience, known for his innovative style and genre-defying compositions. Legendary trumpeter Randy Brecker will make a special guest appearance with Scatter The Atoms That Remain, a group led by drummer Franklin Kiermyer with their musical director Davis Whitfield that promises to be a dynamic blend of jazz, funk, and hip-hop. Talents from music scene that will also perform in the festival includes the versatile Australian singer-songwriter Rai Thistlethwayte and the up-and-coming UK jazz prodigy Yakul.

Among those who have just been confirmed today, is Eliane Elias, a Grammy Award-winning Brazilian soprano and pianist known for her passionate performances of Brazilian music and jazz standards, as well as her faultless technique. The funk group Scary Pockets, well-known for their upbeat live shows and viral covers, will also be playing. 92914 (read: Gu i Gu IL Sa), a South Korean duo who plays exciting electronic jazz fusion will be a first timer at the festival. The return of Incognito who released their latest 19 th album “Into You” in 2023 a group that is always highly anticipated at this yearly event. Also be performing is Multi- platinum and award winning singer-songwriter Jessie Reyez. Furthermore, the lineup features American singer-songwriter Joyce Wrice, who is well-known for her powerful songs and soft voice. Her debut album was included in Rolling Stone's Best R&B Albums of 2021 year-end lists. Virtuoso guitarists known as Thiago Genthil and Leo Amuedo, renowned for their flawless technique and expressive playing, will be collaborating with Indonesian musicians at this one of kind festival that continues to present Indonesian and Foreign musicians through the platform. The Main Squeeze's dynamic sound, Kennedy Administration's high-octane jazz, funk, and R&B fusion, and Ricky Montgomery's heartfelt lyrics and soulful vocals are all anticipated by audiences. No less surprising is The Amy Winehouse Band will be performing, they are the original band of Amy Winehouse and will celebrate Amy’s music, life and legacy on stage. Another Grammy- winning musician, Keyon Harrold will also enliven the Festival, he also known as the “future of trumpet”. From the neighbouring country, Aisha Retno is a young singer-songwriter from Malaysia, who’s also half Indonesian, will capture the audiences with her powerful performance.

Experience the power of impromptu collaboration as musicians from many genres and backgrounds get together on stage, highlighting the ability of music to transcend barriers such as: Gary Anthony with Ron King Big Band, Paul Brown with Ron King Big Band. And also be performing Brian Bromberg with Michael Paulo Band. Brian Simpson will give a Soul-stirring jazz performances with Rebecca Jade and Darryl Walker. In fact, in one of his shows, Rebecca Jade, an accomplished singer/songwriter and Brian will also be performing The Sade Tribute. Also joining the festival are Brian Bromberg, Paul Brown, and Michael Paulo, who will be presenting their exquisite performances on stage together.

From the alluring melodies of Foreign performers to the diverse range of Indonesian talent, such as Project Pop, ArumtaLa, Allan Andrsn & Key B, Ardhito Pramono, Arya Novanda, Bilal Indrajaya, Casté, Indro Hardjodikoro Feat. Indra Qadarsih, KIM (Arsy Widianto, Rachel Rae, Gusty Pratama), Mea Shahira & Mezzaluna, Nadhif Basalamah, Okaay, Rafi Sudirman, Rahmania Astrini, Rimaraay, Warna Reunited, KSP Band, Kurosuke, Adjani Feat Sri Hanuraga, Suara Kayu, Romantic Echoes, Ananda Badudu, IDGITAF, The Lantis, Teddy Adhitya, Dua Empat, Coldiac, Barry Likumahuwa & The Rhythm Service: “Salute The Rollies”, promise to captivate audiences with their unique sounds and talents and many more names to be announced.
