On Friday, 27 October 2023, music enthusiasts and partygoers were given a sensational treat as the renowned international DJ, JAEL, from the Netherlands, took the stage at Boca Rica Tapas Bar & Lounge.
Giovanni Jano, popularly known by his stage name JAEL, is a talented 24-year-old musician, producer, DJ, and singer from The Hague, Netherlands. A Moluccan by blood, JAEL's deep-seated passion for music originates in his upbringing, where his parents' love for funk and soul melodies left an indelible mark on his musical journey.
From a young age, he discovered the enchantment of musical instruments, including the guitar, drums, and keys, and it was during this time that he realized his inherentcalling to create music. Playing these instruments soon became second nature to him. However, as he continued to evolve as an artist, he ventured into music
production, experimenting with music software on his trusty old Windows PC.
His distinctive sound blends the soulful and funky with electronic elements, imbuing his compositions with a captivating smoothness and infectious beats. His multifaceted role as a singer, producer, and artist allows him to craft a musical cocktail that seamlessly weaves R&B, hip-hop, electronic, and soul elements. Influenced by musical luminaries such as Anderson .Paak, Erykah Badu, J-Dilla, and Kendrick Lamar, JAEL has embarked on a remarkable journey within the Dutch DJ scene. His distinct musical style has garnered him coveted slots at some of the Netherlands' most prominent festivals, including the Latin Village Festival and the
Eastville Festival. Additionally, his discography includes notable album projects, with "Half as Much" being one of his releases in 2021.
Hennessy Artistry is Hennessy's annual event that presents the most talented artists and idiosyncratic music, providing the finest music, entertainment, cool themes, and parties. This year, Hennessy Artistry goes under the “Diffraction” theme, highlighting a night takeover based on hip hop and dance with content to drive hype through the night. Combining motion dance performance and exclusive DJ sound pad to drive a powerful and immersive show through lights installation, disruptive materials and parade dichroic crew. The last Hennessy Artistry event was held last August at Zoo, Jakarta featuring young Dutch DJ, Dave Nunes, as the headline act.
