Located at Jl. Pasuruan No. 1 & 3, Menteng, Central Jakarta, the newest concept from Yialos, part of the Dear Butter Group, marks the next chapter in the brand’s evolution. Following the debut of Yialos Grill and Souvlaki in Senopati in 2023, which quickly established itself as a go-to destination for vibrant Greek street-style dining, Yialos Taverna introduces a more expansive, immersive, and elevated interpretation of Mediterranean hospitality. 

 

Designed to echo the charm of a coastal Greek taverna, the restaurant blends warmth with understated elegance. A more spacious layout allows for a seamless dining flow, complemented by four exclusive VIP rooms for private occasions, as well as a dedicated playground and a nursery room—thoughtfully accommodating everything from intimate dinners to family gatherings and celebratory moments. 

 

Enhancing the experience further, Yialos Taverna Menteng features a dedicated seafood station, where guests are invited to personally select from a variety of fresh seafood and have it prepared to order. This interactive element brings a sense of theatre and authenticity to the dining experience, reminiscent of traditional Mediterranean coastal markets. 

 

 

At the heart of the experience is a menu that celebrates the depth and diversity of Greek–Mediterranean flavors. Exclusive to Yialos Taverna Menteng, a curated selection of new dishes reflects both tradition and creativity: Spicy Prawn Vongole, Kalamarakia Sti Skara (Grilled Baby Squid), Chickpeas with Sausage, Greek Fish Soup (Psarosoupa), Marides Tiganites (Fried Whitebait), Crudo, Salt-Baked Fish, Grilled Fish, and Kotopoulo Lemonato. Each dish is crafted with a focus on quality ingredients and honest flavors, designed to be shared, enjoyed, and remembered. 

 

Alongside these new creations, Yialos Taverna Menteng continues to serve the brand’s beloved signature dishes that have become guest favorites, including Grilled Octopus, Meat Platter, Souvlaki, and Athenian Lobster Pasta—ensuring a sense of familiarity while introducing a new culinary perspective. 

 

For Founder, CEO, and Chef Bobby Handoko, the opening of Yialos Taverna Menteng is a deeply personal milestone, one that traces back to experiences long before Yialos itself. 

 

“When I first opened Yialos Grill & Souvlaki, I wanted to bring the simplicity, quality, and communal spirit of Greek cuisine to Jakarta, flavors and memories that have stayed with me since my university days in Melbourne and my travels through Greece,” said Bobby. “With Taverna Menteng, we finally have the space and the soul to take that vision further. A bigger kitchen, a deeper menu, and a home that welcomes families, friends, and food lovers the way a true Greek taverna should.”

 

Without formal culinary training, Bobby has built Yialos through instinct, travel, and an unwavering palate—every dish that reaches the table must first pass his approval.
