Driving further success for Indonesia’s buoyant furniture manufacturing and woodworking industries
IFMAC & WOODMAC 2023 exhibitions, Indonesia’s largest furniture manufacturing and woodworking trade show, closed its doors on 23th September 2023 on a highly positive note as it exceeded expectations with 12.150 Trade visitors from 28 countries.
IFMAC & WOODMAC 2023 gathered participation from 225 exhibiting companies from 23 countries and regions - Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Finland, France, Gabon, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Romania, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, USA. Showcasing various furniture and woodworking machinery, accessories, assembly tools and components, software for furniture design, raw materials and solutions for interior works, adhesives, abrasive, paint, coatings and fitting needs to strengthen the Indonesian furniture industry.
Complementing the exhibition are seminars and presentations, which were well-received by the visiting trade attendees. These industry-specific sessions ran concurrently with the exhibition and feature thought leaders and industry experts to answer the problems that arise in the Indonesian furniture & woodworking industry as well as provide the latest insights on world furniture industry trends to Indonesian furniture & woodworking industry players.
According to Alex Kam, Technical Sales Manager, Techbond Manufacturing Sdn Bhd “The exhibition has been very consistent since day one. Most of our potential customers are from local Indonesia and there are some from overseas as well. Our future plan for IFMAC is to have a bigger booth and make a bigger show for the industry players in Indonesia. Similarly, Ahmet Gokhan Sonmez, Kayalar Kimya, Export Area Manager express his saticfaction and said “Next year we would like to participate again because there is a huge potential in Indonesia. It's highly developing country and I am sure that we will catch better opportunities here.”
IFMAC and WOODMAC 2023 have also garnered the support from Directorate General of Agro Industry, Ministry of Industry of Republic of Indonesia and industry associations, Chairman of Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industries (HIMKI), Abdul Sobur, said “Indonesia’s unique selling points as a global furniture market supplier are rooted in its natural resources, skilled labour, competitive pricing, cultural diversity, and sustainable production practices. Its abundant natural resources with a variety of woods that are highly sought after in the global furniture market for their durability, beauty, and unique characteristics. With its skilled craftsmen, made-in-Indonesia’s furniture are sought-after for its precision and creative designs, on top of its high-quality and competitively-priced characteristics that can be better manufactured with the latest global technologies.”
This statement was also supported by the Chairman of the Presidium Indonesian Sawmill and Wood Working Association (ISWA), H.M Wiradadi Soeprayogo, said "The Indonesian furniture industry has enormous growth potential, and we are committed to supporting its development through strategic partnerships and collaborations such as with WAKENI in organizing IFMAC WOODMAC. With the introduction of advanced technologies and innovative solutions from global companies, we can enhance the competitiveness of our local furniture businesses, while also creating new opportunities for investment, employment, and economic growth. With the technological injection, Indonesia's furniture manufacturing industry is capable of delivering high-quality, eco-friendly products.”

The next edition of IFMAC & WOODMAC, will take place from 25 to 28 September 2024, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia. Space bookings are now open.
