BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 Officially Launched:

“Ulos Simetria” Showcases North Sumatra as Indonesia’s Fashion Inspiration

Exactly one month ahead of the event, the Association of Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs (APPMI) officially unveiled the theme and program lineup for BTN Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2026 under the title "Ulos Simetria" during the Campaign Launch held at the Atrium of Lippo Mall Nusantara, Jakarta.

Carrying the theme "Ulos Simetria," BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 will take place from July 29 to August 2, 2026, at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC). This year, North Sumatra Province serves as the Official Theme, highlighting the region's rich textile heritage (wastra), culture, and creativity as the primary inspiration for Indonesia's largest fashion event.

The launch marks the official countdown to the 14th edition of BTN Indonesia Fashion Week.

Poppy Dharsono, Chairwoman of APPMI and President of Indonesia Fashion Week, emphasized that for the past fourteen years, Indonesia Fashion Week has remained committed to strengthening Indonesia's fashion ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration.

"Indonesia Fashion Week is not merely a fashion event, but a platform that brings together creativity, culture, industry, business, government, and international partners to collectively strengthen Indonesia's fashion ecosystem. Through the theme Ulos Simetria, we aim to demonstrate that Indonesia's cultural heritage holds tremendous potential to continue evolving through innovation and become part of the global fashion conversation," said Poppy Dharsono.

As Co-Host, Title Sponsor, and Official Bank Partner, Bank BTN returns to support Indonesia Fashion Week for the third consecutive year. This partnership reflects BTN's commitment to strengthening Indonesia's creative economy ecosystem.

Frengky Rosadrian Perangin-Angin, Wealth Management Division Head of Bank BTN, stated that collaboration between the banking sector and the fashion industry plays an essential role in fostering sustainable growth within the creative industry.

"Banks are no longer limited to providing transaction and financing services; they have become integral parts of an ecosystem that supports industry growth. Therefore, the collaboration between BTN and Indonesia Fashion Week represents a strategic initiative to support fashion industry players, MSMEs, and the continued growth of Indonesia's creative economy," said Frengky.

Through Bale by BTN, visitors will enjoy seamless digital payment services, exclusive promotional offers, and access to the BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 pre-sale ticket, which will soon be available through the platform.

Collaboration with the Provincial Government of North Sumatra stands as one of this year's key highlights. Through the theme Ulos Simetria, North Sumatra leverages BTN Indonesia Fashion Week as a strategic platform to introduce its rich textile heritage (wastra), culture, tourism, MSMEs, and regional creative economy to both national and international audiences.

The international dimension of BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 is further strengthened through its continued collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency. This year, the Italian Trade Agency brings ASSOMAC as part of its efforts to enhance cooperation between Indonesia and Italy in advancing a sustainable leather industry.

Paolo Pinto, Trade Commissioner of the Italian Trade Agency in Indonesia, said that the partnership with Indonesia Fashion Week reflects a long-term commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesia's fashion ecosystem through international collaboration.

"Our partnership with Indonesia Fashion Week goes far beyond sponsorship. It represents a strategic commitment to supporting the growth of Indonesia's fashion ecosystem through international collaboration that fosters innovation and strengthens trade relations between Indonesia and Italy," said Paolo Pinto.

Through this collaboration, Indonesian industry players will gain access to advanced technology, capacity-building opportunities, industry best practices, and international partnerships that will enhance the competitiveness of Indonesia's leather industry in the global market.

In addition to the support from North Sumatra as the Official Theme and the international collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 will also offer a multisensory experience through its partnership with PT Unitama Sari Mas via its brand Dahlia Teh Keraton, which has been appointed as The Signature Scent of BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026.

The Campaign Launch concluded with the premiere of the BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 campaign video and the presentation of the "6 Icons of BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026" Mini Runway, offering a first glimpse into the visual direction and creative vision of this year's event.

BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 will feature hundreds of designers, exhibitors, MSMEs, and a wide range of programs, including fashion shows, exhibitions, business forums, talk shows, and collaborative activations that bring together industry leaders, government institutions, businesses, communities, and international partners within a unified ecosystem.

Through the theme "Ulos Simetria," BTN Indonesia Fashion Week 2026 aims to serve as a stage for Indonesia's creative excellence while reinforcing culture as a source of innovation and a driving force for the nation's creative economy.
