For the third consecutive year, The Westin Jakarta brings back ‘Westin Street Idol 3’, a platform for talented street musicians who are in need of opportunities to showcase their skills. Held on Tuesday, 17 September 2024 at the hotel’s Denpasar Room, pre-screened street musicians are invited to the audition with a chance to win millions of Rupiahs and various music equipment. Some of the judges include Miss Supranational 2024 & Puteri Indonesia 2024, Harashta Haifa Zahra, a representative from Hari Hari Musik, David Qlintang, an Indonesian musician, Baim, and an emerging Indonesian painter, Kemal Suhaya, who will assess the performance of each contestant.

Based on the performance during the audition, the judges have decided on the winners as the following: Ricky Riyanto as the first winner, Reni Retnowati as the first runner up and Nur Fajar Maysandy as the second runner up.

Westin Street Idol 3 is funded through an action supported by Kemal Suhaya, who auctioned one of his painting masterpieces titled ‘Constellations of Stars’ during the ‘Imaginary Realms: A Dialogue of Emotions and Fantasies’ Art Exhibition held at The Westin Jakarta, from 13 September 2024 until 30 October 2024. Both initiatives are an ode to creators, performers and listeners uniting through self-expression. 

“The Westin Jakarta truly believes that these talented street musicians deserve a platform to express themselves and show their potential to strive and grow even more,” said Director of Marketing Communications Yudith Dwi Astuti.  

Collaborating with few partners including Siji Art Management, Hari Hari Musik, LUXARS, Peavey, Kabellos, RON88, Octava Music School, Mustika Ratu, Yayasan Puteri Indonesia, Beauty Queen by Mustika Ratu and #WeGotYourBack by Makaila Haifa, The Westin Jakarta provides cash support for three winners and three favorite musicians, along with acoustic and electric guitars, ukulele, guitar pedal, amplifier and guitar strings as supported by Hari Hari Musik. Street musicians aged 17 to 35 residing in Greater Jakarta, with the talent to perform across various genres, are invited to participate.
