Marriott International Collaborates with Maria Monique Lastwish Foundation to Fulfill Dreams of Children with Disabilities and Special Needs

Marriott International Indonesia is pleased to announce its continued partnership with Maria Monique Lastwish Foundation to fulfill the cherished wishes of children with disabilities and special needs. Initiated by Marriott Business Council Jakarta, this heartfelt endeavor aims to turn the dreams of these remarkable children into joyful realities, aligning with the company's fundamental commitment to "Putting People First".

Representatives from 14 Marriott International’s portfolio of hotels in Jakarta came together at Le Méridien Jakarta on March 6, 2024, to fulfill 14 items from the children's wish lists, spanning from vital health equipment like respiratory aids, wheelchairs, and walkers for disabled individuals to coveted items such as smartphones, luggage, and more.

Marriott Business Council Indonesia is an organization of General Managers from hotels across Indonesia, advocating for the hospitality industry and hotel-specific issues, preserving the company's culture, and serving the local community. Together, the leaders of the council have adopted Marriott's culture of "putting people first" as the foundation for everything they do.

Founded by Natalia Tjahja, Maria Monique Lastwish Foundation is committed to providing care for disabled children and the elderly with special needs. Established on December 22, 2006, the foundation has been instrumental in supporting the community through diverse initiatives. These include distributing wheelchairs, the creation of Maria Monique Happy Rooms, and the coordination of charity events such as Charity Songs for the World and Charity Movie for the World.

Through this partnership, Marriott Business Council Jakarta aims to inspire these children to maintain their spirits, encouraging them to hold onto hope and faith, knowing that where there is determination, there is a path forward.
