Accor, a leading global hospitality group, proudly presents KarnavALL Batik Indonesia, an exciting celebration of National Batik Day on 2 October 2024. In honour of this cherished Indonesian tradition, Accor’s hotels and resorts in more than 30 destinations throughout the country will feature a series of Batik-inspired activities throughout the month of October, offering guests a truly immersive experience.

These activities will include fashion shows, workshops, exhibitions featuring Batik products from local small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as culinary offerings infused with Batik themes. Guests of all ages will be engaged through a wide variety of events, from interactive activities for children to special discounts for those donning Batik attire.

Garth Simmons, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy Division in Asia, expressed his excitement, "We are thrilled to celebrate Indonesia's rich cultural heritage through the KarnavALL Batik Indonesia initiative. This celebration not only honours the exquisite art of Batik but also connects tradition with contemporary experiences, allowing our guests to engage with Indonesian culture in meaningful ways. We are proud to support local communities and small and medium-sized enterprises, showcasing their craftsmanship while offering unique and memorable experiences to our guests."

Earlier today, Pullman Ciawi Vimala Hills in Bogor was thrilled to have introduced its latest cultural immersion experience in collaboration with Batik Bogor Pancawati, an UMKM under the Department of Culture & Tourism. This initiative was part of Accor's nationwide celebration of Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage in October 2024. The unique 2-hour activity was attended by 25 in-house guests who had the opportunity to explore the artistry of batik, blending traditional techniques with modern creativity.

During this engaging experience, participants learned the intricate classic techniques of batik-making guided by skilled artisans. Through this interactive session, guests had the opportunity to create their own batik masterpieces while gaining a deeper appreciation for Indonesia’s cultural identity. This collaboration exemplified Pullman's dedication to supporting the arts, fostering cultural connections, and providing an unforgettable guest experience.

The public is invited to join the festivities offline and online by following #KarnavALLBatikIndonesia2024 and participating in the various Batik-themed activities throughout the month.
