Ascott Jakarta Celebrates Indonesian Independence Day with Ascott Soiree to National Museum of Indonesia

In order to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in 2025, The Ascott Jakarta is proud to present Ascott Soirée, an event specifically designed to provide guests with an immersive art and cultural experience. This year, Ascott Soirée invites Ascott Jakarta guests to visit National Museum of Indonesia (Elephant Museum), a historical icon that preserves traces of the nation's struggle, cultural diversity, and the richness of Indonesia's identity.

Ascott Soirée is an exclusive event initiated as part of Ascott Jakarta's commitment to not only provide quality accommodation, but also to serve as a bridge between guests and local art culture. Through this program, Ascott invites guests to experience firsthand the values of togetherness, diversity, and the spirit of struggle that have become the foundation of the Indonesian nation. The National Museum, also known as the "Elephant Museum", was chosen as the main destination for Ascott Soirée because it contains collections that represent the long journey of the Indonesian nation towards independence. From historical artifacts, ancient manuscripts, to ethnographic collections that reflect the richness of the nation's ethnic groups, guests are invited to explore how the struggle for independence is closely intertwined with cultural diversity.

During this visit, guests not only saw the historical collection but also received in-depth explanations from museum guides about the heroic stories of national heroes and the long journey of the Indonesian people in fighting for freedom. "We want guests to feel that staying at Ascott Jakarta is not just an overnight stay, but also part of a journey to better understand Indonesia. The Independence Day celebration is the perfect moment to connect them with the history, culture, and values of the nation's diversity," said Christian Lo, Residence Manager of Ascott Jakarta.

Indonesia is known as a country with more than 1,300 ethnic groups and hundreds of regional languages. This diversity is both Indonesia's strength and beauty. This year's Ascott Soirée emphasized the importance of celebrating differences as a unifying wealth. At this event, guests were invited to learn more about Nusantara culture through exhibitions of traditional textiles, handicrafts, and regional music displayed at the National Museum. The program also featured interactive sessions where guests could take a picture and, with the help of Artificial Intelligence will find similarities with Indonesian tribes or ethnicities.

"Diversity isn't just a story, but also an experience that can be felt firsthand. We want Ascott Soirée to be a platform to connect guests with the beauty of Indonesia's diverse cultures," added Vanessa Velindra, Brand & Marketing Manager of Ascott Jakarta. In addition to showcasing the richness of culture, Ascott Soirée also provides an opportunity for guests and residents to get to know each other.and become an refreshing event amidst the busyness of a workday. "I really enjoyed exploring this museum and even took some photos to capture this special moment," said Tao An, a guest of Ascott Jakarta.

Through this Ascott Soirée, we can learn together that the spirit of independence is not just a thing of the past, but must also be revived in everyday life. For Ascott Jakarta, engaging guests in history is part of strengthening their love for their country and fostering an appreciation for Indonesian national values.
