ARYADUTA Menteng and Penjaga Laut Plant 1,000 Mangrove
Seedlings on Pari Island, August 12, 2025
In celebration of ARYADUTA Menteng’s 51st anniversary and the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, ARYADUTA Menteng, in collaboration with Penjaga Laut—a youth-based community focused on marine conservation—successfully planted 1,000 mangrove seedlings on Pari Island, Thousand Islands.
Continuing a Shared Commitment

This initiative marks the second collaboration between ARYADUTA Menteng and Penjaga Laut, following a similar program in Tanjung Pasir, Banten, in 2024. The planting took place on the eastern coast of Pari Island, specifically at Rengge Beach, with the aims of:
Protecting the shoreline from abrasion
Restoring degraded ecosystems
Absorbing carbon dioxide
Providing a natural habitat for marine life
Pari Island’s land area has decreased from 45 hectares to 41 hectares due to abrasion, mangrove degradation, overexploitation, and the impacts of climate change.
Community Involvement and Local Empowerment
The program also engaged the Women’s Community of Pari Island and local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), who showcased a variety of local products such as salted fish, seaweed-based snacks, and breadfruit chips.
Participants joined a canoe tour to witness firsthand the damaged mangrove areas, gaining a deeper understanding of the environmental challenges faced by the island.
A Meaningful Celebration

A total of 50 participants—including ARYADUTA Menteng employees and Penjaga Laut volunteers—took part in the program. The event was highlighted by the hoisting of a giant Indonesian flag at the site, symbolizing both the 80th Independence Day celebration and the unity in protecting coastal ecosystems.
