Building upon the success of the Korean Street Food Festival - 60 Seconds to Seoul, Archipelago Hotelsthe largest private hotel management group in Indonesia and Southeast Asia presents the Japanese Street Food Festival – 60 Seconds to Tokyo at Hotel Neo Kota Baru Parahyangan on July 23, 2026. This festival is part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series, a culinary campaign celebrating rich flavors from various countries through authentic street food experiences. In this edition, Japan was selected as the main theme, featuring a wide array of signature dishes inspired by Tokyo's vibrant street food culture. Embracing a live-cooking concept, guests can watch the preparation of each dish firsthand, highlighting speed, quality, and precision—reflecting the modern, practical, and dynamic character of Japanese street food.
As part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series, the "60 Seconds to Tokyo" campaign runs from July through December 2026, involving 139 properties across the Archipelago Hotels network in Indonesia. In addition to experiencing the excitement of the Japanese Street Food Festival, guests can also savor a variety of special Japanese-themed menu items available at all participating hotels through dine-in, room service, and online delivery. Culinary, Cosplay, and J-Pop Enliven the Japanese Street Food Festival
Held at the Noodles Now Restaurant and the ballroom area of Hotel Neo Kota Baru Parahyangan, this Japanese cultural festival in Bandung successfully pampered visitors from afternoon until evening, presenting a blend of authentic Japanese street food culinary tourism and a creative space for lovers of the Land of the Rising Sun's culture. Bandung was selected as the event location because it boasts a rapidly growing creative community ecosystem and a strong Japanese culture fanbase. Throughout the festival, an immersive Tokyo atmosphere was deeply felt thanks to the Tokyo-Themed Photo Corner designed with visual elements of manga and Japanese newspapers, as well as a lively lineup of entertainment such as a Cosplay Walk featuring popular anime characters, energetic Japanese Idol Dance performances, a Taiko Drum show, various interactive games and prize quizzes, and a DJ Performance spinning a curated selection of J-Pop tracks, anime soundtracks, and modern electronic music.
Adding to the festival's excitement, visitors also had the opportunity to meet Ren and Reina, the two iconic characters of the 60 Seconds to Tokyo campaign. Ren, who is of mixed Indonesian and Japanese descent, along with Reina, a Japanese national currently residing in Indonesia, were present to invite guests to closely discover the diverse flavors of Japanese street food. Their presence represents the spirit of the 60 Seconds to Tokyo campaign: bringing an authentic Japanese culinary experience that can be enjoyed right here in Indonesia without having to travel to Japan.
