The Makers Project by The Balvenie and alvinT

The Balvenie
-

The Balvenie proudly presents The Makers Project - The Craft that Binds, showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship through a special collaboration with renowned Indonesian product designer, Alvin Tjitrowirjo from alvinT. This unique partnership brings to life The Cask, a versatile installation inspired by The Balvenie’s iconic wooden casks used to age its whisky.

In this exhibition, The Balvenie and alvinT celebrate the craftsmanship that binds and shapes our traditions, perspectives, and character. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a sensory experience—touch, smell, taste, and sound—that fosters deeper connections through the storytelling of each Balvenie Maker.

Explore the story of Five Rare Crafts—the Farmers, Malt Men, Coppersmiths, Coopers, and Malt Master—who represent the heart of The Balvenie’s whisky-making tradition. Visitors can also participate in craftsmanship workshops and The Makers Talk throughout the exhibition, offering a hands-on experience to learn directly from master artisans.
