
MICE-PNJ DEPARTMENT SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS CONFERENCE: THE 8TH INAMICE 2025 “ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS 2030 IN JAKARTA THROUGH SUSTAINABLE MICE PRACTICES”
The MICE Study Program of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ) has successfully organized The 8th INAMICE 2025 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Grand Kemang Hotel Jakarta. The event, held in a hybrid format, carried the theme “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals 2030 in Jakarta through Sustainable MICE Practices”, focusing on a collective commitment to driving the transformation of the MICE industry in Jakarta towards a greener, more inclusive, and sustainable direction.
The conference was officially opened by the Head of the Education and Mental Spiritual Bureau of the Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Fajar Eko Satrio, and the Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Andhika Permata.
Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the Director of Politeknik Negeri Jakarta, Dr. Syamsurizal, SE., MM., and the Head of the Business Administration Department, Dr. Dra. Iis Mariam, M.Si.

In his remarks, Dr. Syamsurizal conveyed that, “INAMICE has grown into a collaborative space between industry, academia, and students since it was first held in 2014.” He also emphasized the importance of this year’s sustainability theme as a shared commitment to making Jakarta a responsible global MICE destination.
Plenary Sessions: Cross-Sector Collaboration Towards a Low-Emission MICE Industry
The conference was divided into three main plenary sessions.
The first session raised the topic “Empowering Jakarta’s MICE Industry Towards Global Sustainability Standards”, moderated by Imam Syafganti, S.Sos., M.Si. This session featured three speakers: Chandrasa Edhityas Sjamsudin, S.Kel., M.Sc. (Development Coordination Officer United Nations Resident Indonesia); Ari W. Adipratomo, S.Sos., MIR. (Climate Reality Project), Drs. Vinsensius Jemadu, MBA (Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy), and Raty Ning, MBA, CMMC (KADIN Indonesia). The discussion highlighted the importance of integrating the Paris Agreement and ISO 20121 into event implementation in Jakarta as well as the role of local stakeholders in building adaptive green standards.
The second session, titled “Innovative Digital Pathways for Sustainable Industry and MICE Development”, featured two speakers, namely: Teguh Anantawikrama, S.I.Kom., M.A. (KADIN/ITIC); and Adjat Sudradjat S.ST CMMC (Secretary General of INCCA), who discussed digital transformation in the event industry and how technologies such as IoT and hybrid platforms can reduce waste and increase energy efficiency.

The third session raised the theme “Setting a Benchmark for Jakarta’s Implementation of Sustainable MICE Practices” featuring two speakers, namely: Dr. M. Reza Abdullah, MSc., CMMC (Royalindo Expoduta); and Yasinta Hartawan, MBA (VP PT Nusa Dua Indonesia). In this session, the speakers provided practical examples of eco-friendly venue management, logistics efficiency, and strengthening public-private collaboration in supporting Jakarta's green transition.
MICE PNJ Sustainability Appreciation Awards
As a form of support for strengthening sustainability practices in the MICE industry, INAMICE 2025 presented appreciation to industry players who have shown real commitment to the application of sustainable event management principles. This award is presented in the "MICE PNJ Sustainability Appreciation Awards" consisting of three categories:
Leading MICE Sustainable Venue Award
Leading MICE Sustainable Organizer Award (PCO)
Leading MICE Sustainable Organizer Award (PEO)
These awards are given as a form of recognition for the contributions and commitment of venue, PCO/PEO industries in creating socially responsible, environmentally friendly events in line with the global sustainability agenda. It is hoped that this appreciation can inspire other industry players to also take an active role in shaping a more sustainable future of MICE.

The MICE Study Program of PNJ is committed to continue being a space for innovation, collaboration, and learning in encouraging the development of a sustainable MICE industry in Indonesia, in line with its active role in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 through inclusive and environmentally friendly event organization.
