Jakarta’s dynamic dining scene is set for a striking evolution with the much-anticipated arrival of ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta, a refined Spanish restaurant that brings the warmth, soul, and fiery essence of Basque cuisine to the capital. Following an exclusive media preview, the restaurant will officially open to the public on 13 June 2025, inviting guests on a culinary journey that is as authentic as it is approachable—infused with vibrant storytelling and deep cultural roots.
ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta Ignites This June at Gran Meliá Jakarta
At the helm of this new venture is Chef Iñigo Urrechu, the renowned Basque culinary figure behind celebrated ERRE & Urrechu restaurants in Madrid, Barcelona, and Marbella. The Jakarta outpost marks his debut in Southeast Asia, embodying his core culinary philosophy: a devotion to top-quality ingredients, the mastery of grilling over live fire, and creating a visceral connection between food and emotion.
“Jakarta is a city with incredible energy and a growing appreciation for world cuisines. ERRE & Urrechu is not just a restaurant; it’s a stage where fire, flavor, and Spanish soul come together,” shared Chef Iñigo Urrechu.

Leading the kitchen is Chef Alejandro García Martín, a seasoned Spanish chef with more than 15 years of international culinary experience. Under Chef Iñigo’s mentorship, Chef Alejandro brings the ERRE concept to life with passion, precision, and flair.
“At ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta, we let the ingredients speak for themselves. The grill, the freshness, and the authenticity are at the heart of what we do,” stated Chef Alejandro García Martín.
The Design Story: Spanish Soul Meets Jakarta Elegance
The restaurant’s visual identity is crafted by CMV Architects, a globally recognized studio based in Spain. Their design for ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta pays homage to Mediterranean culture while incorporating a contemporary sensibility tailored for Jakarta’s sophisticated diners.
The open layout captures the essence of Spanish social gatherings. At its center, a symbolic olive tree anchors the space, evoking Mediterranean heritage and peace. Surrounding it, warm lighting, open-plan seating, and a sleek bar reminiscent of classic European taverns set the tone for both lively dinners and intimate celebrations. Two private dining rooms offer secluded options for special occasions, while a standout live-fire open kitchen invites guests into the heart of the action—fostering an immersive and transparent dining experience.

Natural materials and thoughtful craftsmanship enrich the design. Wooden floors, custom furnishings, and rustic stone textures are paired with earth-toned leather seating and a warm palette of terracotta and neutrals, creating a space that feels both timeless and welcoming. Accents like textured fabrics, solid wood tables, and wrought iron details nod to traditional Spanish artisanship, blending heritage with modern finesse.
Founded in 1996 in Palma de Mallorca, CMV Architects has delivered over 300 international projects, particularly in hospitality. Their regional portfolio includes renowned properties like Paradisus Bali, Gran Meliá Jakarta, Melia Ho Tram, and Soleil Ha Long by Wyndham.

Strategically located within Gran Meliá Jakarta in the prestigious Kuningan district, ERRE & Urrechu Jakarta will operate as an independent culinary destination—set to become a landmark for discerning diners. With its bold flavors, live-fire cooking, and evocative Mediterranean ambiance, it’s poised to be one of Jakarta’s most talked-about restaurant openings in 2025.
