-

The Westin Jakarta, in association with Marriott Worldwide Business Councils Indonesia, is pleased to announce the upcoming solo art exhibition of renowned artist Sidik W. Martowidjojo. Titled "Mengalir Membawa Cinta," the exhibition will take place at the Sky Lounge Lobby on Level 52 of The Westin Jakarta. The Sidik Martowidjojo solo art exhibition is organized in support of the Sungai Watch charity auction, a noble cause aimed at conserving and protecting Indonesia's rivers.

As part of the exhibition, there will be a HeART Talk Marriott Bonvoy Moments event on 18 August, where Mr. Sidik will exhibit his passion with a brush directly in front of the Marriott Bonvoy Members and tell about what motivates him every day, given a reflection upon his illustrated painting career. This extraordinary experience will merge art appreciation and philanthropy, creating a unique opportunity for art enthusiasts and philanthropists to engage with the artist's creative process while actively supporting the cause championed by Sungai Watch.

Funneled by Marriott International’s 2025 Sustainability and Social Impact Goals, as well as United Nations Sustainable Development, The Westin Jakarta, aligned with Serve 360 directions, is committed to creating a positive and sustainable impact on the community. The event promises to be a remarkable showcase of captivating paintings by Mr. Sidik W. Martowidjojo, including pieces specially intended for the auction benefiting Sungai Watch.

Founded in 2020 by Gary, Kelly, and Sam Bencheghib in Bali, Indonesia, Sungai Watch has grown into a team of 90 passionate river warriors, working tirelessly to create solutions to stop the flow of plastic pollution from going into the ocean. Their scalable strategy for addressing plastic pollution includes creating straightforward trash barriers and running a collection, sorting, and upcycling system. They have also started exploring international expansion through Asia and South America in addition to their goal of installing 1,000 barriers throughout Indonesia.

The official Opening Ceremony and Media/Press Conference for the exhibition will be held on August 2nd, 2023. Distinguished attendees at the event will include ministers, diplomats, socialites, business leaders, media representatives, Jakarta Indonesia Business Council General Managers, Area Vice President - Indonesia & Malaysia at Marriott International - Mr. Ramesh Jackson, and partners.

Following the opening, the Art Exhibition and Closed Auction will be open to the public from August 3rd to August 22nd. During this period, visitors will have the exclusive opportunity to view and acquire unique pieces of art while actively supporting the cause championed by Sungai Watch.

The exhibition will culminate in a Closing Ceremony and Charity Distribution on August 23rd, 2023, marking the submission of auction results to The Westin Jakarta, Marriott Indonesia Business Council, and Sungai Watch.

The Westin Jakarta is honored to be part of this significant initiative and remains committed to supporting local causes that contribute to the betterment of society.
