Indonesia International Furniture Expo 2024

The furniture and crafts industry continue to be one of Indonesia's creative industries contributing significantly to export value. However, unfortunately, the furniture and crafts industry are facing challenges due to the weakening of the Indonesian furniture export market in 2023. Furniture and crafts export data in the third quarter of 2023 only reached US$ 1.8 billion, down from US$ 2.5 billion recorded in 2022, with a cumulative decrease of 28 percent in one year. This is caused by geopolitical conditions and inflation affecting the global market.

Nevertheless, the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Association (HIMKI) remains optimistic that the furniture and handicraft industry will grow this year. One of the avenues for this growth is through the largest furniture and handicraft exhibition in Indonesia, the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX). IFEX will once again be held from February 29 to March 3, 2024, at JIExpo, Kemayoran, in collaboration with Dyandra Promosindo.

With a broader exhibition scope, IFEX aims to encourage local manufacturers to showcase and market various furniture and handicraft products with unique characteristics that depict Indonesian culture. Serving as a platform for local producers to display their products in the global market, IFEX is poised to be a solution for enhancing export value in 2024.

In its 9th edition, IFEX adopts the theme R.E.A.L, which stands for Reflection on Culture, Experiencing the Comfort, Adapting to Sustainability, and Leading the Innovation. IFEX will showcase Indonesian furniture, crafts, designs, and arts inspired by the beauty of Indonesia's natural resources and adhering to international standards.

This event will feature more than 500 participating companies, including those that have already adapted to sustainability, showcasing over 1000 products from various parts of the world with diverse raw materials such as wood, rattan, bamboo, leather, fabrics, art and craft, and pottery. This year, IFEX is also utilizing all halls at JIExpo Kemayoran, extending to the Gambir Expo area, with a total area of 65,000 square meters as a commitment to presenting diverse and quality goods.

IFEX 2024 aims to attract local and international buyers to attend this event, and more than 68 countries have already registered as buyers, including: Indonesia, India, the United States, Australia, China, the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Korea, Germany, the Netherlands, Malaysia, and dozens of other countries.
