Ren & Reina to Accompany Guests Enjoying Japanese Street Food at Archipelago Hotels
60 Seconds to Tokyo Launches Across 138 Hotels in Indonesia as
Part of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series
Archipelago Hotels introduces 60 Seconds to Tokyo, the latest edition of the Archipelago Global Flavours Series. Over the next six months, 138 Archipelago Hotels properties across Indonesia, spanning from the Aston to fave brands, will serve authentic Japanese street food available to both hotel guests and the general public.
Ren & Reina: The Icons Behind 60 Seconds to Tokyo
The campaign is fronted by Ren, a man of Indonesian-Japanese descent, and Reina, a Japanese national living in Indonesia. Among the many aspects of life in Indonesia they adore, one remains irreplaceable: Japanese street food. Reina bursts with enthusiasm whenever she rediscovers the street food flavors she has long missed from home. Meanwhile, Ren ensures the culinary integrity of every dish, focusing on authenticity to guarantee each bite stays true to its traditional Japanese roots. Together, they serve as the icons for 60 Seconds to Tokyo, inviting guests to explore genuine Japanese street food flavors without having to board a flight to the Land of the Rising Sun.

Japan Dominates the Culinary and Travel Interests of Indonesians
The enthusiasm of the Indonesian public for Japanese culture and cuisine continues to follow a strong upward trend. According to the SiteMinder Changing Traveller Report 2025, Japan ranks as the number one favorite international destination for Indonesian travelers, chosen by 33 percent of respondents. This trend is mirrored in actual travel data: statistics from the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) show that Indonesian arrivals to Japan from January to November 2025 reached 558,900 visitors, marking a 26.3 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
This momentum reinforces Tokyo as the perfect choice for the next destination in the Archipelago Global Flavours Series. Following the success of 60 Seconds to Seoul, which brought Korean flavors to the hotel network from January to June 2026, it is now Tokyo’s turn. The Archipelago Global Flavours Series refreshes its concept every six months, presenting street food highlights from countries that align closely with the Indonesian palate.
"Through 60 Seconds to Tokyo, we aim to bring an authentic yet accessible Japanese culinary experience to guests across Indonesia. Following the success of our previous Archipelago Global Flavours Series: 60 Seconds to Seoul, which was honored with the Marketeers OMNI Brands of the Year 2026 award for the Hospitality Engagement Campaign, we are excited to introduce Tokyo as our next culinary destination. Through this campaign, we hope to showcase the city's distinctive flavors and vibrant food culture while creating memorable culinary experiences across our hotels,” said John Flood, CEO of Archipelago Hotels.
