As dusk settles and the Maghrib call to prayer marks the end of the day’s fast, the moment of iftar becomes the heart of Ramadan gatherings.. Reflecting this tradition of shared evenings, Novotel Jakarta Mangga Dua Square introduces “Peranakan Nusantara,” an iftar buffet inspired by the layered culinary dialogue between Peranakan heritage and Indonesia’s rich regional traditions.

Presented at Food Exchange Restaurant on the fifth floor from 28 February to 16 March 2026, available daily from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the programme features five rotating menus throughout the holy month. Each evening offers a distinct interpretation of heritage cuisine, shaped by cross-cultural exchange and regional spice traditions that have travelled across generations.

Presented at Food Exchange Restaurant on the fifth floor from 28 February to 16 March 2026, available daily from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the programme features five rotating menus throughout the holy month. The journey begins with Laksa Johor, its coconut broth gently steaming with lemongrass, alongside Kambing Guling carved to order at the live station. Mee Goreng Nyonya delivers a balance of sweetness and spice, while Soto Medan is served with a golden coconut enriched broth poured just before serving. Across the rotation, Gulai Sapi Kuah Merah simmers in a deep red gravy layered with spice, while Ayam Bumbu Andaliman introduces a subtle citrus heat distinctive to North Sumatra. Takjil is presented as part of the ritual, with assorted kolak, traditional fritters, bubur selections, and Indonesian sweets completing the natural progression from savoury to dessert.

Throughout the evening, live Gambus Marawis performances lend a gentle cadence to the evening, complementing conversation as families, colleagues, and friends gather around the table. Adding further anticipation to the programme, guests stand a chance to win a trip for one person to Singapore, Malaysia, or Thailand through a special Ramadan door prize initiative. Peranakan Nusantara is offered at IDR 258,000 nett per person from 23 to 27 February and 13 to 16 March 2026, and at IDR 288,000 nett per person from 28 February to 12 March 2026.
