Le Bistro Presents Faces of Time, a Timeless Culinary Journey

Wine pairing is often celebrated for the harmony it creates between food and wine. At Le Bistro, Vertu Harmoni Jakarta, however, the experience takes on a deeper meaning. Through “Faces of Time,” Le Bistro and Matsu Wines invite guests to explore the relationship between taste, character, and time through a four-course French-inspired culinary journey paired with four distinctive wines from D.O. Toro, Spain. Inspired by Matsu’s philosophy of “to wait,” the experience reflects how character evolves through time, generations, and craftsmanship, creating a dining experience that is as much about storytelling as it is about gastronomy.

The journey unfolds progressively, beginning with Matsu La Jefa, a creamy and elegant white wine with refreshing acidity, paired with Pan-Seared Prawn with Leek Fondue & Roasted Tomato. The experience then moves into a bolder expression with Matsu El Pícaro, representing the youthful and adventurous spirit of the younger generation, paired with Duck Confit with Pomme Lyonnaise & Spiced Strawberry Sauce. The third chapter introduces Matsu El Recio, reflecting greater maturity and balance through its structure, silky tannins, and notes of red fruit, vanilla, cocoa, and oak, complemented by Grilled Fillet Mignon with Green Asparagus & Foie Gras. The journey reaches its most mature expression with Matsu El Viejo, crafted from vines more than 100 years old, paired with Lamb Noisette with White Bean Ragout & Sautéed Wild Mushrooms.

The official launch of Faces of Time was successfully celebrated at the Pool Terrace of Vertu Harmoni Jakarta, where invited guests experienced the complete four-course pairing journey in an intimate and elegant setting. The event received positive responses from guests, highlighting the distinctive combination of French-inspired cuisine and Spanish wines. “We are delighted with the response to the Faces of Time launch. Located on the 5th floor of Vertu Harmoni Jakarta, Le Bistro brings a Parisian-inspired atmosphere to the dining experience, while Matsu Wines represents the heritage of D.O. Toro and its deep connection to generations of winegrowers and the land. Together, the collaboration creates a meeting point between French-inspired gastronomy and Spanish winemaking, where each course reveals a different expression of time, craftsmanship, and character.
