THE LANGHAM, JAKARTA CELEBRATES 161 YEARS OF BRAND HERITAGE WITH THE LAUNCH OF THE LANGHAM AFTERNOON TEA BOOK
Honouring a legacy that began over 161 years ago, The Langham, Jakarta proudly presents the launch of The Langham Afternoon Tea Book at ALICE by Tom Aikens. Recognised as the birthplace of Afternoon Tea, The Langham has long transformed a quintessentially British ritual into an elegant, world-renowned experience. Today, this enduring heritage is brought to life in Jakarta through a refined culinary journey that blends time-honoured traditions with contemporary artistry.
The Langham Afternoon Tea Book
Designed as both a culinary experience and a celebration of heritage, The Langham Afternoon Tea Book is also available as part of the offering—inviting guests to bring a piece of this timeless tradition into their own homes. The official Langham cookbook is more than a collection of recipes; it is a celebration of Afternoon Tea itself. Beautifully illustrated, it showcases both iconic and modern creations from The Langham’s tea rooms, offering step-by-step guidance for recreating each dish at home. Alongside the recipes, the book features expert tea-pairing recommendations and a comprehensive patisserie fundamentals section, allowing readers to master the art of refined flavours and elegant presentation.
“Afternoon Tea has long been at the heart of The Langham’s identity, dating back to the opening of our London flagship in 1865, when we became the first Grand Hotel to introduce this refined ritual to the public. Today, that enduring legacy continues to inspire us. With the creation of The Langham Afternoon Tea Book, and its expression across our hotels, we bring this timeless tradition to life—inviting our guests to experience and share in a heritage that has gracefully defined The Langham for generations,” said Alexander Poindl, General Manager of The Langham, Jakarta.
