Delight in the Flavours of India: Indian Food Festival at Shangri-La Jakarta Featuring Guest Chefs from Shangri-La Bengaluru

-

In a symphony of flavours and aromas, Shangri-La Jakarta invites you to a lavish celebration of India's culinary heritage, known for its rich spices and explosive taste sensations. This Indian food festival will take place from 1 to 12 November 2023 at  SATOO Restaurant.

The 12-day gastronomic celebration promises to be an extraordinary experience, featuring the culinary expertise of our distinguished guest chefs, Chef Virendra Singh and Chef Kamran,  both hailing from the renowned Shangri-La Bengaluru. Together, they curate an opulent selection of Indian delicacies, a culinary reverie that harmonises with the radiant spirit of  Diwali, the Festival of Lights.

Deepavali, a luminous jewel in the Hindu calendar, radiates the victory of light over darkness,  illuminating the hearts of people across the globe. Its name, a poetic fusion of "deepa" (light)  and "avali" (row), paints a vivid picture of brightly lit pathways. This five-day festival, with its dates intertwined with the lunar rhythms, is a tapestry of unity, gratitude and boundless positive energy. It is this spirited energy and the messages of joy that we aim to bring to our guests, offering them a delectable and memorable dining experience.

With this Indian culinary festival as their ‘canvas’, chefs Virendra Singh and Kamran paint a  portrait of authentic Indian flavours for guests, from Hing Moong Dal Ki Tikki, where the earthy aroma of asafetida meets the delicate embrace of lentils, to the fiery essence of Aloo  Gobi Adraki. Other specialities, such as Kalonji Pudiney Walli Tandoori Machhi, a combination of spices over succulent fish, and soul-warming Karnataka Rasam, a symphony of tanginess and warmth, captivate the senses. For indulgent moments, Awadhi Gosht Biryani, Meat  Chawal and assorted Naans create a tantalising taste fest. The crescendo, a symphony of desserts – Gulab Jamun, Kesari Phirni, Black Rice Paysam and Badam Halwa – leaves an indelible impression on the palate, a fitting finale for guests. There are many more dishes that will be served, with prices starting from IDR 398,000++ per person and guests are invited to enjoy every note and nuance of the occasion.

Don’t miss this grand culinary festival that promises to transport your taste buds to the heart of India.

Shangri-La Jakarta looks forward to welcoming you to a culinary journey that is truly unforgettable.
