Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City Collaborates with Jung Chan Dining to Introduce Authentic Korean Fine Dining Experience

Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City is thrilled to announce its collaboration with renowned Chef Jung Chan, bringing an unparalleled Korean fine dining experience to the city. Chef Jung Chan, known for his exceptional culinary skills and rich culinary heritage, will present his signature dishes in collaboration with Sheraton Grand Jakarta in July 2023.

Chef Jung Chan Hyuk, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Australia (Sydney), gained recognition through his participation in Master Chef Korea, reaching the top 11 in Season 4. Inspired by his grandmother's use of fresh seafood ingredients, Chef Jung's culinary style reflects his rich culinary heritage from Jindo, Korea. In 2022, he established his Bandung-based restaurant to showcase his heritage recipes, choosing Bandung due to its favorable weather for fermentation, reminiscent of spring or autumn in Korea. The ingredients are personally prepared and fermented by Chef Jung in his kitchen.

The collaboration between Sheraton Grand Jakarta Gandaria City and Jung Chan Dining aims to introduce the royal essence of fine Korean dining, a concept previously unavailable in Jakarta, providing guests with a unique and exquisite dining experience. While Korean cuisine has gained popularity in Jakarta, the authentic taste and experience are still relatively undiscovered. Both Jung Chan Dining and Sheraton Grand Jakarta are thrilled to embark on their first-ever chef collaboration, bringing the authentic flavors of Korea to Indonesian diners and further elevating the culinary scene in the city.

Executive Chef Denny Gunawan leads the culinary team at Sheraton Grand Jakarta with over 14 years of experience mastering various Asian cuisines. His passion for Korean food has strengthened since marrying a Korean spouse, deepening his expertise and appreciation for the cuisine. Chef Denny's interest in working with Chef Jung stems from their shared enthusiasm for Korean cuisine.

The collaboration between Chef Denny and Chef Jung goes beyond incredible food. The culinary event in Jakarta will also feature a mixologist from Jung Chan Dining, who will artfully pair the food with Korean signature drinks, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Very limited seats will be available for this event. For more information and updates, follow @sheratonjakarta and @jungchan_dining on social media to secure your seat.
