11. Nord Anglia School Jakarta

Nord Anglia School Jakarta’s Early Years programme provides an innovative and stimulating inquiry-based learning environment to help your child to flourish. We believe that every child is a unique individual who brings a wealth of ideas, opportunities and deep curiosity to our school. Our holistic, community-centred program puts your child at the centre of their learning. We value and embrace all our families in our diverse learning environment and together will lay the foundations of life-long learning for your child. We know, and value, that your child is unique. That is why our educational offer is tailor-made for each child in our care and they are each supported and challenged at the level appropriate to their developmental stage.

Our main curriculum guidance comes from the UK. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is a robust, enabling and well-rounded document that values every child as a unique and competent learner who will develop and learn in their own way and at their own pace. Our Early Years teachers also embrace the Reggio Emilia approach towards education; believing that children learn best through self-directed, experiential play in a relationship driven environment. We recognise that the importance of play cannot be understated. Play is a fundamental part of a child’s learning journey that will only strengthen their later educational successes.

At NAS Jakarta, we have a lush green campus with many outdoor spaces to discover and explore. Your young learner will have the chance to chase butterflies, see nesting birds, scale climbing frames, construct water channels, try their hand at gardening or engage with any number of activities set out by our early years team. Outdoor time is an extension of the learning and inquiry taking place in the classrooms. Teachers are actively involved with students during outdoor exploration, helping the children to make connections in their learning and develop respect for nature.
