IFW 2024 will be held in grandeur with a campaign titled 'Woven Jakarta Style'.

The Indonesian Fashion Designers and Entrepreneurs Association (APPMI), together with the Jakarta Provincial Government's Tourism and Creative Economy Department, Bank BTN Prioritas, and Tokopedia proudly present Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2024. IFW 2024 will take place at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) from March 27 to 31, 2024. Hundreds of designers and exhibition participants will be involved in this prestigious fashion week in Indonesia.

The theme of IFW 2024 is 'Woven Jakarta Style.' This theme is chosen as an appreciation of the Betawi cultural kaleidoscope. 'Through the theme 'Woven Jakarta Style,' IFW 2024 aims to capture the essence of unity and diversity through the lens of fashion,' said the Chairman of APPMI, Poppy Dharsono. 'The essence of unity and diversity is depicted by the fusion of Malay, Chinese, Arab, and European traditions. With this, we hope the audience can embark on a visual journey that transcends cultural boundaries and embraces the beauty of multiculturalism,' Poppy added.

As in previous years, the beauty of Indonesian textiles will be the main highlight of IFW 2024, and this year will be adorned with textiles from DKI Jakarta. 'There will be many traditional textiles inspired by Malay batik motifs, Chinese silk embroideries, Arab geometric designs, and the dynamism of the metropolitan city. All of these come together to create a unique blend that forms the characteristic cultural identity of DKI Jakarta,' expressed Poppy.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Provincial Government's Tourism and Creative Economy Department welcomes and supports the organization of IFW 2024. As one of the major events in the fashion sector, IFW has a strategic mission in developing fashion sector players to always pay attention to design quality without neglecting culture. 'Culture, as a differentiating element, a factor that can attract consumers, must always be the trigger for creativity. Betawi culture, which is the result of acculturation of various cultures brought by immigrants, is a 'unique' aspect that can be utilized by the fashion sector,' said Andhika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Government's Tourism and Creative Economy Department.

As mentioned earlier, in this year IFW 2024 receives support from various parties, including Bank BTN Prioritas. Bank BTN Prioritas' support for IFW 2024 is one of the efforts to help enhance the development of the fashion industry in the country, as well as to further introduce local fashion brands that are no less competitive than globally recognized brands.

"With the presence of Indonesia Fashion Week 2024, it is hoped to provide a platform for Indonesian designers to showcase their best works to gain more recognition in the wider community, especially for fashion enthusiasts," said Ratu Meika, Head of Sales Management Department, Wealth Management Division of Bank BTN.

Meanwhile, Vivi Kosidin, Fashion Category Development Senior Lead at Tokopedia, stated that Tokopedia and TikTok support the launch of the Langgam Jakarta Teranyam campaign for IFW 2024.

"This campaign specifically appreciates traditional Betawi fabrics as well as every party contributing to preserving them, such as designers and local businesses related to them; it is very much in line with Tokopedia and TikTok's commitment to helping local businesses, especially MSMEs, to advance and grow. In the future, Tokopedia and TikTok will continue to provide a broader platform for local fashion businesses, especially in the traditional fabric sector, to become more popular among the public," explained Vivi.

The launch event of the IFW 2024 campaign was held with great excitement at Midaz Senayan on Wednesday afternoon, February 21, 2024. The event was filled with greetings from the organizers of IFW 2024, followed by a press conference, mini talk show, campaign video launch, and ended with a fashion show. The event was attended by fashion enthusiasts, fashion designers, models, influencers, and media colleagues. This launch will be the first time the theme and campaign video of IFW 2024 are publicly displayed as part of the activation series towards #RoadtoIFW2024.
