This exibition revisits one of Hartono's ethnographic works on the materialzation of the body or being through sacred acts and recollections of "from", also known as "dari".
A. Sebastianus Hartono uses experiential ethnographic research to as a prominent intertwining mode of existence. Hartono's works explore the decontextualization of material cultures and how it is perceived, understood, and ritualized in practice. ISA art Gallery aims to exhibit A Sebastianus Hartono's works not only as an artist (magician/shaman) but also as an ethnographer (observer) and as a craftsman (practitioner/from the word 'practice').
