BritCham Indonesia's annual general meeting 2024: Celebrating achievements, embracing future opportunities

BritCham Indonesia held its 45th Annual General Meeting (AGM) today at The Dharmawangsa Hotel, Jakarta. Attended by the current Board of Directors, corporate members across all sectors and important stakeholders such as KADIN and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). BritCham set about electing new Board members and unveiling its ambitious plans for 2024 and beyond. 

BritCham Indonesia has the Board that best represents British business interests in the region. Among elected parties were Indonesia nationals, Dani Adriananta (Head of Country for PT. Airbus in Indonesia), Ningcy Yuliana (President Director of PZ Cussons), Charles Kho (Country Head of Multinationals & International Subsidiary Banking at HSBC Indonesia), Ingrid Siburian (President Director & Country Chair of Shell Indonesia), Ira Noviarti (Executive Vice President of Unilever), Budiman Moerdijat (Head of Policy & Regulatory Affairs of bp Indonesia). 

This is the 75th Anniversary of the UK - Indonesian trade and investment relationship. To mark this year, BritCham will launch the Future First Awards. Also, in keeping with its focus on talent and building on the establishment of the BritCham Education Centre, a new BritCham Academy will begin with first focus on marketing. 

Chairman Rino Donosepoetro (as known as Donny), Vice Chairman, ASEAN & President Commissioner Indonesia of Standard Chartered Bank said that Board structure matches the embedded principles of equality of gender and nationality as well as the size and age of the organisations represented. He added “Some British businesses had been invested in Indonesia for over 150 years. We estimate that our British and affiliated members create more than 3 million jobs directly or indirectly in the real sector. We are respectful partners to the ambitions of the government and the people of Indonesia.”

The AGM was followed by a cocktail meet and greet evening which was attended by Ibu Shinta Kamdani, Coordinating Vice Chairwoman for Maritime Affairs, Investment and Foreign Affairs at KADIN Indonesia. 

BritCham Indonesia has the reputation of being the most active foreign Chamber in Indonesia hosting over 60 events per year. It has seven member HUBS that operate across sectors. It Business Centre provides market access support and matches British and Indonesian businesses, while the Education Centre brings young Indonesians together with British universities and future employers.
