The building was originally built in the 1920s and has since been restored to its former glory, making it the perfect setting for this elegant experience.
The menu of the Hermitage Afternoon Tea features a selection of classic cakes and savory bites that have been given a unique Indonesian twist, with a nod to the Dutch influence on Indonesian cuisine during the colonial era. The Menteng Afternoon Tea is a unique twist on the traditional English afternoon tea, highlighting the diverse and dynamic culinary landscape of Jakarta. The name of this Afternoon Tea is inspired by the elite residential area of Menteng, which is known for its rich cultural heritage and sophisticated atmosphere.
The menu of the "Menteng" Afternoon Tea is designed to showcase the best of Indonesian cuisine, incorporating local ingredients and flavors into the classic afternoon tea offerings. The savory bites are inspired by popular Indonesian street food dishes such as Pecel and Bakwan, which are creatively reinvented with modern culinary techniques. This creates a fusion of flavors that is both unique and delicious.
The sweet bites are a highlight of the "Menteng" Afternoon Tea, featuring homemade Indonesian desserts that are both rich in flavour and visually stunning. Guests can indulge in traditional treats such as Bika Pandan, Talam Nangka, and Wajik, which are perfect for satisfying a sweet tooth.
Each detail of the experience has been carefully designed by Chef Rikky Yohanson, the Executive Pastry Chef, and presented in the fine ceramic rantang. The guest will be presented with stacks of rantang brought to the table and will unveil each layer of the rantang to complement the tea served.
