Farm to Table: A Night to Remember at the 18th Restaurant & Lounge

The 18th Restaurant & Lounge

Yesterday, we enjoyed being invited to the 18th Restaurant & Lounge at Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung. The view from the 18th floor was absolutely fascinating, offering a stunning backdrop to an already impressive evening. Right now, they’re featuring a special farm-to-table activation, where all their veggies come straight from IP Farm, a sprawling 5.7-hectare farm in Lembang.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink made right in front of us. It was based on lychee tea and beautifully garnished with edible flowers. Alongside this, we received some welcome bread, specifically tomato sourdough.

White Rose

For starters, we enjoyed the White Rose, a dish made with Australian beef, aromatic triple zests mayonnaise, beetroot powder, and edible flowers. It was wrapped in spring roll skin and topped with an orange spark, making for a delightful and visually appealing bite before the main course.

Roasted Cod, Shrimps, and Scallops

The new main course was a standout: Roasted Cod, Shrimps, and Scallops served with organic asparagus, oyster mushrooms, and lobster rigatoni gratin. The cod was beautifully pan-seared, resulting in a flavorful and delicate texture. The shrimp and scallops were also perfectly cooked, making this a seafood lover's dream. The dish also included oven-baked rigatoni with a parmesan fondue base, a special secret sauce, and a vibrant green color from the asparagus. Fresh herbs like rosemary, asparagus, and oyster mushrooms completed the dish.

charcoal-grilled Australian sirloin

We also tried another variation of the charcoal-grilled Australian sirloin, this time with oven-baked rigatoni, fresh herbs, and a soft-textured truffle sauce. This version was complemented by enoki mushrooms, adding a different texture and flavor profile.

Another main course we sampled was the Homemade Tagliolini. This dish was based on a rich parmesan sauce and included oyster mushrooms, organic shiitake, and garnished with fresh herbs like rosemary. It was a perfect blend of flavors and textures.

For drinks, we had the Galaxy and Peachy Slush. Both were not only visually stunning but also refreshingly delicious to complete the meal.

The overall vibe of the place was fantastic, making it perfect for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere, combined with the exceptional food and drinks, made for an unforgettable evening. Starting from IDR 199.000++, you can also try this farm-to-table experience. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy a special night out, you should definitely check out the 18th Restaurant & Lounge!
