The elevator doors open to the 17th floor of Pullman Tower, and the wind greets us first; light, cool, and full of promise. Within seconds, we’re face to face with a sweeping view of Bandung. City lights blink softly below, cradled by mountains in the distance. There’s a hush in the air, like the city wants you to notice it for once. And we do.

Akasa 360 Rooftop Bar at Pullman Bandung Grand Central, located in the city center, doesn’t just give you a view, it invites you into a full-circle experience. That evening, our table became a little theatre of stories. It started with drinks. Two cocktails, one mocktail. But each came with a tale, shared passionately by the restaurant manager and bartender as if we were being let into a secret.

Akasa 360 Rooftop Bar New York Sour

The New York Sour, layered and bold, is a whiskey-based drink that finishes with red wine. Visually dramatic, but smooth and calm on the palate, like a confident nod from someone who knows who they are. Then came Pina Colada, a tropical whisper from Puerto Rico with white rum, coconut, pineapple juice, and shaved fruit. As it was poured and garnished, something in us softened. Everything felt in tune: the drink, the music, the moment.

And then, Nusantara, a mocktail named for the archipelago it represents. Bright, fruity, made with strawberries from Ciwidey, lime, and probiotic milk. It was light and honest, the kind of drink that makes you smile halfway through because it tastes like a memory you haven’t had yet.

From the bar to the table, the Mad Cow kitchen took over. Their twisted tapas concept explores global inspirations in small, expressive plates. Our standout? Tiradito Gyu Nikkei, a Japanese - Peruvian sashimi of wagyu chuck tender with ponzu caviar and nori crackers. Surprisingly harmonious. Each bite felt like two cultures learning to speak the same language.

The Beef Bao melted with 8-hour brisket, layered inside a soft bun, balanced with cabbage slaw and cilantro. The Chicken Shish Tawook brought bold Middle Eastern flavors and soft homemade pita. And the Maddie’s 3-Fromages, served with rustic baguette and local butter, was the final act. Cheese, all curated locally, some cow, some goat; all young, intentionally, for their fine aroma. It was confident, earthy, and unexpectedly elegant.

Akasa 360 Rooftop Bar doesn’t just offer a rooftop escape, it curates everything, from what you see to what you sip. You come for the view, but you stay because what’s on your table is just as breathtaking. And somewhere between the last sip and last bite, you realize you’ve been quietly smiling the whole time.
