Yakiniku lovers, here’s some good news. A new yakiniku spot has just opened this month on Jalan Bengawan—and what makes it even better? They serve Wagyu Yakiniku. Yes, real wagyu. Jiku Wagyu Yakiniku is an all-you-can-eat restaurant serving high-quality wagyu beef—full beef, not meltique.
This place goes all out from the very front. The facade is striking, with Japanese-inspired architecture and accents that instantly grab your attention. Step inside, and it gets even cooler. The whole space is built on a complete Japanese concept—Penjing installations in corners, dim lighting, soft Japanese music, paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, and full decor that truly takes it beyond the typical Japanese restaurant vibe you find in the city.

Now let’s talk about the food. Their marinated wagyu comes in three choices: Tare, Sweet Tare, and Spicy Tare—each offering a different depth of flavor depending on your preference. To bring out the best of these marinades, each table comes equipped with a Binchōtan grill—that’s Japanese white charcoal. It gives a clean, elevated char flavor that brings out the pure essence of the beef without overpowering it. They even provide a grilling guide on the table—5 to 10 seconds is the sweet spot for that perfect texture and taste.

The package we had also included shabu-shabu, with soup options of Konbu, Miso, and Tom Yum. We picked the Tom Yum, and it was a solid choice—warm, sour, slightly spicy, and still comforting for those with low spice tolerance.

And if you’re going all out, don’t skip the live teppan station. They serve Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki, Tamago Nori, and even Grilled Shrimp—also grilled over Binchōtan, and surprisingly, it was one of our favorites. The fritter station is also worth a visit: Karaage skewers, Fried Enoki, Yakitori; all crispy, savory, and perfect either as starters or sidekicks to your wagyu.

For dessert, they go beyond expectations. Their homemade gelato, Hokkaido milk pudding, and tiramisu hit that perfect sweet spot—not overly sweet, but satisfying enough to make you want seconds (or thirds).

Jiku Wagyu Yakiniku really goes all in to serve a complete, detailed Japanese dining experience. It instantly becomes one of the best Japanese restaurants in town. An all-you-can-eat wagyu meal, in a setting that actually feels like Japan, with packages starting from IDR 178K—now that’s a steal. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit.
