The Indonesia Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) and Hukumonline.com invite you to a complimentary webinar, Navigating the Latest Indonesian Carbon Capture and Storage Frameworks: Regulations and Their Potential.

This free webinar will provide comprehensive analysis on the significance of CCS as a component of the overall energy transition, as well as efforts to reduce GHG emissions, investment possibilities and especially the various measures that are specifically outlined under Presidential Regulation No. 14/2024.

Background

Indonesia, with a potential CO2 storage capacity of 400 to 600 gigatons that can be held in depleted reservoirs and saline aquifers, stands at the forefront of the green industrial era. Along with efforts to achieve the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and Net Zero Emissions targets by 2060, Indonesia has enormous potential in terms of its ability to host carbon storage, and thus its potential to attract investment and generate economic value through Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)-related activities.

Topics of Discussion

  • What is carbon capture and storage?

  • What are the opportunities and challenges of carbon capture and storage in Indonesia?

  • What are the key points of Presidential Regulation No. 14/2024 regarding the Implementation of carbon capture and storage activities and how does the latest regulation strengthen previous regulations?

  • How can a carbon exchange help Indonesia achieve its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and Net Zero Emissions targets?

  • How will it be regulated and organized in Indonesia?
