THE BEE SANCTUARY
The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Pacific Place has launched a new initiative towards sustainability with the establishment of The Ritz-Carlton Bee Sanctuary, in collaboration with local honey producer, Beema Honey. Nestled on Level 8 of the luxurious property, this innovative project offers Guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of stingless bees and their delectable honey, while contributing to the hotel's steadfast commitment to sustainability and community support.
The Ritz-Carlton Bee Sanctuary features two bee hives that housing two kinds of stingless honeybees, Tetragonula Biroi and Heterotrigona Itama. The stingless bees produce a honey that is less viscous and is darker than honey bees, usually having a citrus sour-sweet taste. The bees store their aromatic honey in clusters of small resin pots near the extremities of the nest.
In the sanctuary, the honey will be harvested and infused with various local ingredients to enhance the flavours. The harvested honey will be available for tasting exclusively at the renowned PA.SO.LA Restaurant, where Guests can savor the exquisite flavors of this natural delight. This gastronomic experience promises to be a journey of the senses, showcasing the delectable results of collaboration between the bees and the environment.
THE HONEY DELIGHT AFTERNOON TEA
Guests may also enjoy the Honey Delight Afternoon Tea, a culinary masterpiece crafted with the finest locally sourced honey. PA.SO.LA’s culinary team is committed to using the freshest and most exquisite honey, harvested right from The Hotel community's thriving beehives. This program not only ensures the highest quality but also supports The Hotel’s commitment to responsible and eco-friendly practices.
The ambiance of the Honey Delight Afternoon Tea experience is as enticing as the menu itself. Set in the charming surroundings of Level 8, Guests will be immersed in an atmosphere of refined elegance, with floral accents, creating a soothing and inviting space to savour every bite. The Afternoon Tea set is available at IDR 448,000++ for 2 (two) persons.
