In commemoration of World Environmental Education Day, the Ascott Hotel Cluster Bandung, consisting of HARRIS Hotel & Conventions Ciumbuleuit Bandung, HARRIS & POP Hotel & Conventions Festival Citylink Bandung, Yello Hotel Paskal, Kimaya Braga Bandung, and Fox City Center Bandung, organized an environmental education event for children from the Orphanage Yatim Piatu - Hikmah Mufakir Istiqomah. The event took place on Friday, January 26, 2024, starting at 13:30 WIB at Think Big Fl. 4, YELLO Hotel Paskal Bandung.
The objective of this activity is to enhance awareness and knowledge among children about the importance of environmental conservation. With the theme and dress code "Green/Earth Tone - Smart Casual," the event featured various fun and interactive educational games. One of the main games taught children how to distinguish different types of waste, enabling them to understand the importance of proper waste disposal.
Furthermore, the activity included simulations and discussions about the negative impacts of irresponsible behavior towards the environment, such as littering. The aim of this activity is to open the children's eyes to the consequences of small actions on the environment.
Mrs. Popin Kurnia, General Manager of YELLO Hotel Paskal, stated in her address, "Hopefully, with this activity, we can be more vigilant and actively contribute to preserving the environment around us. This activity is part of our commitment to providing sustainable environmental education to the younger generation."
