Claypot—a warm, comforting meal traditionally cooked and often served in a clay pot, a type of earthenware vessel known for its excellent heat retention and even distribution. Many of us know claypot dishes as part of Cantonese cuisine, but in reality, they’re popular in many countries, especially across Asia. But what if there was a broader variety? A full menu of international claypot dishes—Asian, Western, and even Indonesian—is exactly what you'll find at Old Pot.

Having rebranded from its previous concept, Old Pot continues its commitment to serving delicious claypot dishes at very affordable prices! On a cloudy evening, we paid a visit and tried some of their bestsellers. We started with the Samosa, and we must say—it’s one of the best we’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside with a generous filling inside, and when dipped in garlic sauce, it was the perfect match.

With such a wide-ranging menu, we tried five dishes in total. First up, the Claypot Beef Garang Asam, a bold and flavorful broth with tender beef, tomatoes, and other vegetables. This dish definitely earned a special place in our hearts. Then came the Claypot Nasi Lemak, served with pan-seared garlic chicken—an absolute flavor bomb! And let’s not forget the sambal—a must for spice lovers.

Switching to Western flavors, the Claypot Spaghetti Bolognese topped with short ribs is a must-try. Their attention to detail and flavor blew us away—and it didn’t stop there. The Beef Stew Mushroom was another standout: crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and served in a rich mushroom sauce with fresh vegetables and potato wedges. We couldn't get enough.

The Indonesian options were just as delightful. The Beef Rendang Claypot was full of authentic flavor—just like rendang made by a seasoned cook back in its homeland. A spoonful of that beef, combined with vegetables and sambal, left us in awe.

After such a flavorful experience, something sweet was the perfect way to end our meal. We chose the Parata Strawberry—a flatbread served beautifully with strawberry sauce and ice cream. Sweet, fresh, and satisfying. For drinks, we went with the Mango Berry Fusion—a perfect balance of sweet and sour. And for coffee lovers, don’t worry—they’ve got a great selection of coffee, including their signature Kopi Merdeka: a milk coffee with a special touch of Campolay syrup.

We were absolutely thrilled with our experience at the newly revamped Old Pot. With a wide variety of international claypot dishes and a specialty in high-quality imported beef belly, there’s something for everyone. Their official Grand Opening is on May 23rd, and the great news? From opening day until the end of the month, they’re offering special discounts of up to 50% off!

So mark your calendar, bring your appetite, and get ready to experience a comforting, flavorful culinary journey like no other. We can’t wait to come back for more—and we know you’ll feel the same excitement once you’ve had your first bite at Old Pot!
