Bali Island School proudly participated in the sustainability activities organised during the Maybank Marathon Bali 2025, reaffirming our commitment to exceptional education and meaningful global change. This year, Bali Island School (BIS) returns to actively support the Maybank Marathon Bali 2025. Our school led a 30-minute interactive session during the sustainability event held at the Bali United Training Centre on August 22, 2025. This initiative aimed to reinforce BIS’s commitment to delivering world-class education while promoting environmental awareness among young people.

Under the theme “Students’ Voices for a Greener Tomorrow,” three of our students shared their insights, inspiration, and ideas for creating a healthier planet. Kiva from Grade 11 highlighted his project with Less Village Coral Construction, explaining how corals function as forests in aquatic ecosystems and their importance to marine biodiversity. Seo Yeon discussed her initiative, ‘Save the Bees,’ emphasising how bee farming can sustain terrestrial ecosystems. Cheva inspired the audience with her work with Firefly Pathway, which aims to open access to education for underprivileged children.

In addition to the talks and activities, the Bali Island School’s running community participated in the race on Sunday, August 24. Over 13,500 runners from 52 countries participated in this globally recognized event. Our students and teachers competed across three categories: 10K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon. All participants finished strong, earning medals and contributing to a larger mission. The event highlighted the power of sports as a channel to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year’s theme, “Tracking Mileages for Greener Footprints,” emphasised how every step and kilometre covered can support environmental sustainability and raise awareness about climate action.
