On Monday, November 25th, MILKLAB hosted an exclusive workshop with the renowned 2022 World Barista Champion and MILKLAB Brand Ambassador; Anthony Douglas. The workshop was held at the showroom of PT. Kurnia Mitra Duta Sentosa Tbk. (PT. KMDS) in two sessions and provided a unique opportunity for coffee enthusiasts to delve into the world of plant-based coffee and learn from one of the industry's most talented individuals. Attended by more than 70 participants, Anthony shared his expertise in crafting innovative and delicious plant-based coffee drinks using MILKLAB's range of plant-based milk alternatives. Participants gained valuable insights into techniques, flavour profiles, and the art of latte art, all while enjoying the unique experience of learning from a world-class barista.
On Tuesday, November 26th , MILKLAB and EXPAT ROASTER concluded the EXPAT X MILKLAB Barista Battle 2024. The competition, which took place in various cities across Indonesia: Makassar, Jakarta, and Surabaya, culminated in a thrilling final round held at Beachwalk Mall Kuta on November 26th. The event showcased the exceptional talent of Indonesian baristas, with the grand prize winner earning the opportunity to represent Indonesia at the MILKLAB International Barista Championship 2025 in Melbourne. A panel of esteemed judges, including Anthony Douglas (2022 World Barista Champion and MILKLAB Global Ambassador), Yande J. Wirawan (EXPAT Brand Ambassador), Shae Macnamara (Founder of EXPAT), and Seongwon Cha (CalebTiger, 2015 Australian Champion and 2015 World Champion) evaluated based on skills, creativity, and coffee artistry. The grand prize winner, Ahmad Amirudin from Jiwan Bogor (Jakarta), will now embark on a global stage, representing Indonesia at the MILKLAB International Barista Championship 2025 in Melbourne.
