Tucked away in the bamboo forest of Payangan highlands, Padma Resort Ubud recently welcomed the holiday season in style with a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Monday, 2 December 2024. This festive evening, designed to capture the holiday spirit among this award-winning resort in Ubud, brought guests together to celebrate the magic of Christmas and New Year.
The event began at 5.30 PM as guests arrived in the lobby area, warmly welcomed by the resort team. Soon after, the MC greeted everyone, officially kicking off the evening’s festivities.
The celebration continued with a touching performance by a local children’s choir from SDN 2 Puhu. Under the guidance and months of practice from Padma Resort Ubud's team, the choir performed a series of Christmas songs that filled the lobby courtyard with warmth and holiday cheer. Following the performance, the General Manager, Sudiman Arpan then addressed the guests, extending his heartfelt appreciation for their presence and unveiling the inspiration behind this year's holiday theme, "Festive in Payangan Highlands". The decoration is crafted entirely from recycled and eco-conscious materials; these were a visual reminder of Padma Resort Ubud’s commitment to sustainability.
He stated, “This year, we celebrate ‘Festive in Payangan Highlands,’ a theme that highlights sustainability and creativity, with decorations that reflect our commitment to the environment and the dedication of our entire team. Preparation has been underway since the beginning of the year, with the initial step and now-revealed purpose of our campaign, Recycle to Rebuild. Collected water bottles are repurposed one more time, as Christmas decorations before being sold to plastic recycling vendors. Now, standing tall before us, is a grandiose 7-metre, eco-friendly Christmas tree.”
As the night continued, the magic didn’t stop there, as a lively countdown to the tree lighting ceremony ended, a sudden eco-friendly man-made snow gently falling around the courtyard, creating a mesmerising yet warm atmosphere. It was the perfect way to officially start the holiday season at Padma Resort Ubud.
Adding to the excitement, a lively flash mob dance and a surprise visit from Santa Claus delighted guests, as he shared small gifts with the younger attendees. Padma Resort Ubud’s Tree Lighting Ceremony perfectly set the tone for a joyful, eco-conscious holiday celebration, inviting everyone to embrace the festive spirit amidst the lush surroundings of Bali’s highlands.
