Returning to Bali by popular demand following his last concert in June 2023, the world-renowned British-Indonesian classical pianist, George Harliono came back successfully in a sold-out concert to almost 350 tickets last Sunday, 7 April 2024.
Performing a mesmerising repertoire of seven songs over two captivating hours, George Harliono graced the stage of Plumeria Grand Ballroom at Padma Resort Legian. The evening concluded with a breathtaking rendition of Balakirev’s Islamey, widely regarded as one of the most challenging piano pieces by New York Times music critic Harold Schonberg.
The concert attracted attendees not only from Bali but also from other cities including Jakarta, demonstrating George Harliono's widespread appeal and the anticipation surrounding his performances. Another guests’ enthusiasm was also seen from the long queue during the 45-minute Meet and Greet after the concert. George Harliono personally initiated this session as an opportunity to express his gratitude directly to the guests. “I am so excited that Padma Resort Legian said “yes” to my request to hold a meet and greet gathering in the ballroom's foyer after tonight's show.” said George before the concert.
One of the guests, Bayu, expressed his admiration, stating, "George's performance was amazing in the magnificent Plumeria Grand Ballroom. I hope to attend more concerts like this at Padma in the future."
Padma Resort Legian continues its commitment to be a stage showcasing world-class talented musicians in Indonesia, especially in Bali. The series aims to enrich cultural experiences for residents and visitors alike.
