In celebration of World Wellness Weekend 2026, Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection announces the opening of Pravi Spa & Wellness, marking a new chapter in the resort’s evolution as a spiritual wellness destination.
Set within the highlands of Sebatu, Pravi is conceived as ‘A Sanctuary Within a Sanctuary’ - the spiritual heart of the resort and a deeper expression of its connection to the surroundings. For generations, water has held an important place in the spiritual and everyday life of Sebatu, where sacred springs, temples, agricultural landscapes and community traditions remain closely intertwined. This living relationship with water forms the foundation connecting Sebatu, Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection and Pravi.

Rather than presenting Tri Hita Karana simply as a philosophy, Pravi brings its principle of harmony into the guest experience - connecting the individual with the sacred, with other people and community, and with the natural environment. Drawing also from the cicada’s metamorphosis, the journey unfolds through Grounding, Grace and Growth, creating a pathway from intention and purification towards reflection, balance and personal renewal.
The experience begins before reaching the spa itself. Marked by Sebatu Penglukatan, the arrival into Pravi introduces guests to the role of sacred water within the local spiritual landscape and sets the intention for the experience that follows. From the Pravi Arrival Hub, guests - referred to throughout the Pravi journey as Pathfinders - are accompanied by a dedicated Story Guardian (Pengempon) through a 176-metre descent designed as a deliberate transition from the outside world into the sanctuary. Selected Ramayana artefacts encountered along the way introduce reflections on purpose, courage and reconnection, while the Story Guardian connects these narratives with Sebatu, its landscape and the intention each guest brings into the experience.

A defining expression of Pravi’s spiritual wellness journey is its signature Autograph Moment, ‘The Sage and the Sacred Springs,’ a curated cultural and spiritual journey that follows the living legacy of Rsi Markandeya through sacred water, temple, landscape and community.
The journey begins at Sebatu Penglukatan, where guests take part in penglukatan, a Balinese purification ritual using the temple’s sacred spring water. Within local Hindu belief, the waters of Sebatu Penglukatan have long been associated with purification and healing, creating a symbolic beginning centred on releasing what the body and mind no longer need. The journey then continues to Pura Agung Gunung Raung, a sacred site closely associated with the spiritual journey of Rsi Markandeya. Here, the experience shifts from purification to understanding—exploring the sage’s journey, the principle of dharma, and the relationship between intention, perseverance and one’s own inner path. Local tradition identifies the temple and the surrounding Taro landscape as important markers within the story of Rsi Markandeya’s journey through Bali. From the temple, guests move into a terraced agricultural and Subak landscape, where the spiritual narrative becomes tangible through the relationship between water, land and community. It is here that the principle behind Tri Hita Karana can be experienced that human life exists in relationship with nature, community and the sacred, with water acting as a connecting thread between them. The journey culminates at Semara Ratih Penglukatan, where two natural water sources meet. Local tradition associates the site with harmony, affection and inner peace, inspired by Semara and Ratih as symbols of love and union. The final purification becomes a reflection on the complementary energies held within the self—an invitation to a more compassionate relationship with oneself.

The opening of Pravi during World Wellness Weekend also introduces the resort’s broader approach to wellness across the resort. Experiences include sunrise yoga, evening meditation, Pravi Apothecary classes, lontar immersion, and sound-based practices, extending wellness beyond the treatment room and into the complete stay.
“Pravi is an expression of Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection’s relationship with our community and Sebatu. The sacred water spiritual landscape, local traditions and community are not simply elements surrounding the resort; they are fundamental to the experience we wish our guests to understand and respect. Here, wellness becomes a personal journey while remaining deeply connected to the place from which it comes,” said Johanes Lie, General Manager of Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection.
