Helicopter rides in Bali have a certain image.
Luxury. Exclusive. Something you see on Instagram, usually paired with sunsets and perfectly curated outfits. But beyond the visuals, there’s always one question: Is it actually worth it?
Let’s start with the obvious this isn’t cheap. Compared to most activities in Bali, a helicopter ride sits firmly in the premium category. And for many people, that alone raises expectations. When you’re paying that much, the experience has to deliver. So, does it?

Surprisingly, yes, but maybe not in the way you’d expect.
The value of a helicopter ride isn’t in how long you’re in the air. In fact, the duration is relatively short. If you’re expecting a long, drawn-out journey, you might find it underwhelming. But that’s not really the point.
What you’re paying for is perspective.
Within minutes, you see Bali in a completely different way. The coastline feels more dramatic, the landscapes more expansive, and everything you thought you knew about the island suddenly looks… smaller.

There’s also the privacy factor. Unlike most tourist activities, this feels personal. It’s not crowded, not rushed, and not something you’re sharing with dozens of other people. That alone adds a level of exclusivity that’s hard to find. Of course, it’s not for everyone.
If you’re traveling on a tight budget or looking to maximize quantity over quality, this might not be the best fit. Bali offers plenty of incredible experiences at a fraction of the price.
But if you’re here for something memorable—something that stands out from the usual itinerary this is where a helicopter ride makes sense.
So, is it worth it?
For a regular day? Probably not. For a special moment? Absolutely.
