In a culinary landscape as dynamic as Bali’s, a new destination has emerged, offering something refreshingly grounded yet distinctly characterful. Crafty’s Gastro Pub, a London-inspired dining spot in Umalas, blends the warmth of a classic British pub with the relaxed charm of island living. With its welcoming ambience, thoughtful design, quality comfort food and exceptional craft beer, Crafty’s is quickly becoming a standout Bali restaurant for locals, expats and travellers seeking authenticity, flavour and community.
Crafty’s story began with Breman Brewery, its sister brand in Keramas and the foundation of its dedication to craftsmanship. The founders spent years living in London, where pubs represent community and connection—their time there shaped the vision for Crafty’s. “We were inspired by the way London pubs make everyone feel welcome,” says Yonathan, Co-Owner of Crafty's Gastro Pub & Breman Brewery. “They are places where strangers become friends and where food and drink bring people together. We wanted to create that same sense of belonging in Bali, infused with the warmth and flavours of the island.”
This year, Crafty’s marked a new chapter. The aim was to build a gastropub created not just for dining but for gathering. Today, Crafty’s has become a second home for many. Fresh beer is poured with pride, hearty dishes are cooked with care, and guests are encouraged to linger without rush. As a vibrant and innovative Umalas gastropub, Crafty’s brings its own refined interpretation of East-meets-West. The interior blends rustic Balinese elements such as timber carvings and red-brick textures with the cosy familiarity of a London pub, creating a lived-in warmth reminiscent of visiting a friend’s home.
Craft beer is at the heart of the Crafty’s experience. Each brew is crafted locally by Breman Brewery and is celebrated at Crafty's Gastro Pub not only as a drink but also as a culinary ingredient, woven into batters, gravies, marinades and even desserts. Two house favourites headline the taps; Hikari is a crisp Japanese-style lager ideal for sunny afternoons. Gelap is a Balinese dark lager with roasted caramel notes and a smooth bitterness. The Breman Tasting Flight is one of Crafty’s signature highlights. This curated experience presents three signature beers and a seasonal brew, each paired with a carefully crafted dish. It is a playful yet refined journey that showcases how beer and food interact, complement and enhance one another.
Crafty's offers signature dishes that are designed to shine alongside Breman Brewery's fresh beer. Crafty’s Bucket of Wings arrives crisp and golden in a light beer batter, served with homemade beer barbecue sauce and beer-pickled chilli. The Pork Knuckle, rooted in Bavarian comfort, features perfectly crackled skin, rich beer gravy and vibrant pickled red cabbage. The Stacked Burger is unapologetically indulgent, with double beef patties, thick-cut bacon, melted cheddar and a towering beer-battered onion ring.

Guests can also find homages to British pub classics such as Beer-Battered Fish and Chips, Bangers and Mash and hearty Sunday Roast. The dessert menu features the beloved Beeramisu, a tiramisu enriched with the malty depth of Gelap dark lager for a boozy, bittersweet finish. Alongside its craft beers, Crafty’s offers a selection of tropical cocktails inspired by Bali’s fruits, herbs and spices. Coconut milk, pandan, passionfruit and citrus add a sense of island character to every glass. Crafty’s welcomes everyone, from families and remote workers to casual diners and groups of friends. The team envisions Crafty’s becoming the third place of Umalas, an inclusive community space between home and work. Plans include tasting events, workshops, and social gatherings to strengthen Crafty’s growing community.
“People visit Crafty’s because we offer something genuinely warm and memorable,” Yoyo, Co-Owner of Crafty's Gastro Pub & Breman Brewery. “Good beer, honest food and a space that feels comfortable and unpretentious. Whether you are craving a proper Sunday Roast, a cold craft beer in the Bali sun or simply a friendly place to spend your afternoon, Crafty’s is here to welcome you.”
With its blend of British pub heritage, Balinese hospitality and a wholehearted celebration of craft brewing, Crafty’s Gastro Pub is redefining comfort dining in Bali in a way that feels timeless, approachable and full of character.
