Launching across the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection worldwide, including the iconic Bvlgari Resort Bali, the experience celebrates Italy's most cherished summer traditions
Summer in Italy has long been synonymous with a certain kind of magic, where golden light lingers well into the evening, meals unfold at an unhurried pace, and life's greatest pleasures are found in effortless moments shared around the table. This season, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts captures that enduring spirit with L'Estate Italiana, an immersive celebration of the Italian summer that embraces leisurely days, alfresco rituals, and the country's celebrated culinary artistry.
No Italian summer is complete without pizza and gelato, two enduring icons of Italian gastronomy that transcend the plate. More than beloved staples, they are expressions of craftsmanship, conviviality, and the simple pleasure of gathering together. To bring this vision to life, Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts introduces the Pizza Bar, developed in collaboration with celebrated pizzaiolo Pier Daniele Seu, alongside Il Gelato, a signature creation by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito.
As part of L'Estate Italiana, Pier Daniele Seu helms a series of exclusive Pizza Bar pop-ups across the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection. Guests can savour a curated selection of eight gourmet pizzas, each showcasing his contemporary approach to one of Italy's most cherished culinary traditions. Served in elegant open-air settings inspired by the easygoing spirit of a classic Italian pizzeria, the experience captures the essence of summer dining under the Mediterranean sky.
Complementing the Pizza Bar is an artisanal gelato experience by three-Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, whose celebrated restaurant, Reale, in Italy's Abruzzo region, has earned international acclaim. As the culinary curator for Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts, Romito brings authentic Italian gelato to each property through bespoke gelato carts, offering guests a taste of one of Italy's most cherished traditions.

Blending culinary artistry with timeless Italian traditions, these experiences transform every Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts destination into an evocative celebration of summer in Italy. Imagine, the days unfold at an unhurried pace, flavours evoke a true sense of place, and every moment is an invitation to linger just a little longer.
"L'Estate Italiana is more than just a gastronomic proposal; it's an immersive experience that celebrates the vibrant spirit of Italian summer and brings an authentic taste of Italian craftsmanship to guests worldwide," said Silvio Ursini, Executive Vice President of the Bvlgari Group.
An Italian Summer Above the Indian Ocean
Perched atop Uluwatu's dramatic limestone cliffs, where The Bvlgari Bar and Serpenti Pool Club gaze out across the endless Indian Ocean, Bvlgari Resort Bali becomes the setting for L'Estate Italiana. Here, the spirit of an Italian summer finds an unexpected yet seamless home, framed by one of Bali's most spectacular coastal landscapes.
For Italians, summer is an enduring expression of la dolce vita, where time slows and every gathering becomes a celebration. It unfolds through lingering lunches that dissolve into sun-drenched afternoons, conversations that stretch effortlessly across the table, and the quiet ritual of sharing exceptional food without watching the clock. L'Estate Italiana brings this distinctly Italian rhythm to Bali, inviting guests to embrace a slower pace of life where every meal is meant to be savoured and every moment enjoyed without haste.
At The Bvlgari Bar, acclaimed pizzaiolo Pier Daniele Seu's Pizza Bar takes centre stage, complemented by Bellavista Champagne and sweeping ocean views. Just steps away, Serpenti Pool Club plays host to the artisanal gelato experience by chef Niko Romito, served from bespoke carts adorned in warm terracotta hues and the Maison's unmistakable Serpenti motif. Together, the two venues create an immersive celebration of Italy's most cherished summer rituals, brought to life against the backdrop of Bali's southern coastline.
To inaugurate the experience on 29 June, Pier Daniele Seu travelled to Bali for a special appearance, sharing the philosophy behind his contemporary approach to pizza and offering guests the rare opportunity to experience his craft firsthand.
Along these clifftop terraces, Italian conviviality meets the effortless warmth of Balinese hospitality. Freshly baked pizzas give way to artisanal gelato by the pool, while the rhythm of the day is dictated not by schedules but by simple pleasures. The result is a celebration that feels both unmistakably Italian and deeply rooted in its island setting, where Bvlgari's signature elegance, Italy's culinary heritage, and Bali's tranquil beauty come together above the Indian Ocean.
The Art of Pizza by Pier Daniele Seu
The foundation of Pier Daniele Seu's pizzas lies in an impeccably crafted dough. Naturally light and airy, it undergoes a meticulous 30-hour maturation process under carefully controlled conditions before being paired with premium Italian ingredients. The result is a collection of pizzas distinguished by layered yet harmonious flavours, where every element is thoughtfully balanced. Conceived for sharing, each pizza reflects Seu's belief that the best meals are as much about conversation and connection as they are about exceptional cooking.

Drawing on both tradition and innovation, the eight-pizza selection showcases Pier Daniele Seu at his most creative. Beloved classics such as Margherita DOP sit comfortably alongside more adventurous creations including Variazione di Zucchine, Indiavolata, Formaggi e Limone, and Cocktail di Gamberi, highlighting the chef's contemporary interpretation of Italian pizza.
Complementing the menu is a curated partnership with Bellavista, the renowned Franciacorta estate owned by the Moretti family. A selection of the winery's celebrated cuvées—including Alma Assemblage Non Dosato, Alma Assemblage Rosé, and the prestigious Riserva Vittorio Moretti—has been chosen to accompany the pizzas, each offering a different expression that enhances the depth and nuance of the dishes. Together, they celebrate the craftsmanship, regional character, and enduring legacy of one of Italy's most influential producers of traditional-method sparkling wine, whose winemaking vision is now led by Francesca Moretti with the continued guidance of legendary cellar master Richard Geoffroy.

The experience concludes with a collection of Bellavista-inspired cocktails, each created exclusively by the Bar Directors across the Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts collection. Thoughtfully crafted to echo the elegance of the wines, the cocktails provide a refined finale to an experience that celebrates the enduring pleasures of the Italian table.
The Gelato Tradition by Il Gelato
Served from traditional carrettini, or artisanal gelato carts, Il Gelato captures one of Italy's most cherished culinary rituals. Each scoop is crafted with fresh, premium ingredients, while the simple pleasure of choosing from gleaming metal tubs filled with classic flavours recreates an experience familiar to generations of Italians. It is a timeless ritual that celebrates craftsmanship as much as it does indulgence.

Conceived by three-Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito, Il Gelato reflects a philosophy rooted in restraint, precision, and purity of flavour. Made with fresh milk and carefully sourced natural ingredients, every recipe has been meticulously refined to highlight the integrity of each component, using minimal sugar and fat while remaining entirely free of artificial flavourings. The result is gelato that is remarkably clean, balanced, and expressive.
The collection spans both rich gelati and refreshing sorbetti, embracing Italy's most beloved flavours. Classics such as Cioccolato, Pistacchio, Nocciola, and Crema sit alongside vibrant fruit sorbets including Fragola and Limone, the latter paying homage to Sicily's celebrated citrus heritage. Each flavour offers a different expression of Italy's diverse culinary landscape, united by an unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity.

More than a sweet finale, Il Gelato is an invitation to embrace the rhythms of everyday Italian life. Whether enjoyed beneath the afternoon sun or during the quiet glow of early evening, it recalls the effortless charm of lingering in a sunlit piazza, where conversations unfold without urgency and life's simplest pleasures become its most memorable. It is, in many ways, a tribute to the Italian art of living.
